My sister and I went for brunch and we had a phenomenal experience. We were greeted right away and escorted to our seat. The restaurant was nicely decorated and the art on the wall were beautiful. The music was good and then a good DJ start too. Our service Ruby did an extraordinary job with making us feel comfortable and she was very knowledgeable about the menu. She also made our drinks and baby, the espresso martini was top tier. I have to mention Tayari who assisted our server and made us feel right at home( he makes a good espresso martini too). We had the oxtails and grits, the steak and egg and home fries, the empanadas and the soup, all were delicious and well seasoned. One of the owners Naj,also came out to check on us and introduce herself, which was really nice. The open kitchen was really nice too. Our overall experience was so wonderful, we will be going back.

I went to this new place and the food is truly the highlight. Every dish is thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. You can taste the quality and freshness of the ingredients in every bite. The menu offers a great variety, with something for everyone, and the flavors are both creative and comforting at the same time. The drinks and cocktails are just as impressive, expertly crafted and perfectly balanced.
What really sets OULA apart, though, is the service. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. They go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect without being overbearing.
If you’re looking for a restaurant in New Jersey that delivers exceptional food, a great atmosphere, and top-tier service, OULA is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be returning!

Myself and some friends went to Oula on a Saturday around 5pm. The atmosphere was pleasant and chill. We were greeted and seated immediately as we had reservations. The open kitchen was nice. The restaurant was immaculate. Our server Devin was absolutely amazing. He made our dining experience unforgettable. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The food was delicious! We had garlic Parmesan wings, Oxtails, lobster rigatoni, blackened salmon with creole sauce, and Haitian meatballs. The vibe was great! We will definitely be back and try the happy hour because we didn’t have any drinks.

Heard a couple of suggestions from friends and social media, so decided to come check it out. And I was certainly not disappointed!
I wanted to come support a Haitian business, and I am glad I did. The oxtail and grits had amazing flavor, and the drink with Barbancourt will definitely sneak up on you in the best way possible.
The owner suggested I come back for dinner, so that’s exactly what I am going to do!

I hosted my 31st birthday at Ou La last night. I had between 40-50 guests including myself. Starting from the booking experience I knew that I made the right choice! Gabby was our hostess and she was super accommodating and quick with her responses. She put in extra touches that really made my day special! She accommodated all special requests and was very visible and available throughout the night. Now let’s get to the FOOD! Baby that food was absolutely delicious! Everything from the epis shrimp, the mini griot cups, and their sweet and spicy chicken wings to the oxtail and salmon, my taste buds were in heaven! All my guests were well pleased. They allowed to add small table decorations and even customized my menu and gave me one as a keepsake. The music was on point and the atmosphere over all was cozy and chic! I already plan to visit again before the month is over because well… my bday is allll month lol. I’m looking forward to the upcoming events like the mixology class and the galentine’s brunch! Thank you all so much for an amazing birthday celebration. See you soon!

My family and I went there this Sunday for Brunch. I 100% recommended! I was at first hesitant about the food, I had the Salmon I replaced the mashed for the rice and vegetables. The food was amazing, I also had a side of the soup 10/10. My drink was perfect, service was amazing!.. another great thing was the DJ, she was amazing. The music was perfect and it set the tone and from glancing around the room you can tell others were enjoying their time with good music. I can’t wait to go back.. might go back again next week .

I was invited to the @oulacarteret influencer brunch in Carteret, NJ, and their brand-new brunch menu did not disappoint.
Let me just say: their selections were divine. Chef Duke brings his classical training, global experience, and deep Haitian roots into every dish, and you can absolutely taste it. OU LA is more than just Haitian cuisine; it’s a modern Caribbean fusion fine-dining destination that masterfully blends global flavors with elevated technique.
If you love Haitian food or even if you’re just curious, this is a MUST visit. #fashionandfood #oula #brunch

My wife and I spent Valentine’s Day evening at Oula Restaurant & Bar and decided to try their special holiday menu. From the moment we walked in, the energy felt warm and lively, definitely the right setting for the occasion.
For appetizers, I ordered the crispy Ou La chicken wings, which were lightly glazed with a honey-style sauce that balanced sweetness and seasoning well. They had a great texture and solid flavor. My wife chose the Haitian meatballs. They weren’t necessarily my personal favorite, but she truly enjoyed them and appreciated the seasoning.
For our entrées, I had the Cabrit; fried goat served with djon djon rice and sweet plantains. The dish was well prepared, flavorful, and satisfying without being overly heavy. My wife ordered the New Zealand lamb chops, which were cooked nicely and just as enjoyable. Both meals were strong choices. We also ordered desserts, but by that point we were completely full and didn’t get a chance to try them.
The atmosphere was vibrant. The restaurant isn’t very large, but they made good use of the space with multiple tables set up for the holiday crowd. As expected for Valentine’s Day, it was packed. Between being seated and receiving our appetizers, the wait was about an hour and a half. However, the drinks were well made, and the Afrobeats playing throughout the evening kept the mood smooth and upbeat.
Our waitress, Marie, was welcoming and attentive. She was very apologetic about the wait, but her professionalism and positive attitude made the experience feel comfortable despite how busy the night was.
Overall, it was a good experience with flavorful food, solid drinks, and a great vibe. I would definitely return, perhaps on a less busy evening to fully enjoy everything they have to offer.

Oula is truly one of a kind. I dined here for my birthday. I dined solo for Sunday brunch and the food was fantastic! I had the crunchy cinnamon French toast with the jerk chicken sausage and the shrimp and grits, with bottomless mimosas. It was all amazing! The staff were wonderful! They treated me with so much love and kindness. I was taken care of from the moment I sat down. Nij, the owner checked on me often and suggested a new dessert to try, (deconstructed sweet potato pie, it was so good) Bash my server was so on point and keep me comfortable and kept the mimosas flowing, and Chef Rudy had the crew come sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to me. My day was incredible! I met awesome folks that treated me to cocktails and we spent time in conversation. The music was on point and the vibe was laid back and classy. My birthday was made super special! Oula is my new favorite spot and I’ll be back often! Thank you Oula! Yall did that!
