We ordered the buttermilk chicken tenders with Mac salad, the grilled cheese brisket with fries, and a side of cheesy grits.
The buttermilk tenders were incredible. They were crispy and nicely seasoned. The Mac salad was basic but still solid. It was mayo based. I like my Mac salad to be a little tangy but this one was not tangy.
The brisket grilled cheese was good. The bread was a bit soggy because of the juices from the brisket. Flavor wise, it was nicely seasoned and tender. It came with pickled red onions which is can be an acquired combination. The fries were incredible. They were crispy and salted nicely. They were the type that had the skin on them in shoestring form. Soooo good!
The grits….omg. I couldn’t believe how good they were. They had the perfect amount of cheese. It wasn’t very grainy. Such a perfect consistency. Mixed with the chicken tenders? Match made in heaven.
The service was good. They workers were nice even though they were dealt a less than preferable hand because of the snowstorm. The vibe inside was quirky and fun.
Super busy on a Sunday morning so we waited about 30 minutes. FYI they ask you to wait outside or in your cars.
We all got French toast, and one of us was able to get gluten free French toast that she said was delicious!
Coffee was hot and yummy! Also we LOVED the home fries! So flavorful! All the food hit the spot and was very reasonably priced. The place has great character!
Highly recommend if you’re in the area!
Not only was it incredibly inconsate, but the attitude from staff was extremely rude and unprofessional. A simple “we’re sorry, let us see what we can do” would have gone a long way. Instead, we were met with cold responses to match the weather.
As a parent, safety and basic human decency matter. There was no reason to handle the situation the way it was handled. I will absolutely not be returning.
Do better.
