Came here for Friday late lunch, the place was really empty. Only 1 table had guests. Decor is amazing. We ordered Shepard salad and the hummus. The salad had too many tomatoes and the hummus was cold. We wanted to order the adana kebabs but the waiter told us they were beef, been to many turkish places and adana are always lamb. So we ended up ordering some lamb skewers. It was just ok.
Overall not worth visiting again, service was ok, seemed like they preparing for the dinner!

Perfect Valentine’s Day dinner at Ottoman Taverna!
We had an amazing experience celebrating Valentine’s Day here. The lamb kebab was perfectly seasoned, juicy, and full of flavor, and the lamb shank was incredibly tender and delicious. Everything was fresh and beautifully presented. The service was outstanding very attentive, friendly, and made the night feel special. The atmosphere was warm, romantic, and perfect for Valentine’s Day. Highly recommend for a special occasion we will definitely be back

From the food to the service to the atmosphere, everything was truly 10/10. Every dish was delicious and tasted just like authentic Turkish food from Türkiye. We had an amazing experience and will definitely be coming back with our family.

Ottoman Taverna absolutely redeemed my fasting mood this Ramadan. Their Ramadan Special Menu came out like a beautifully choreographed culinary rescue mission — the kind that makes you forget you’ve been counting down to sunset since 5 p.m.
The ambiance? Warm, chic, and classy enough that I instantly felt like my iftar should be photographed for a magazine. Soft lighting, elegant décor, and a calm atmosphere perfect for that “I’m starving but I’m still classy” moment.
The special menu was the star: comforting soup, fresh bread that should honestly have its own fan club, and dishes that were generous, flavorful, and definitely crafted with fasting people in mind. Everything came out quickly, which is exactly what a hungry soul wants — no suspense, no drama.
The service was kind and attentive without hovering, which I appreciate because nobody wants a server watching them break their fast like it’s a National Geographic moment.
Why four stars? A couple dishes on the Ramadan menu were good but could’ve used that extra flavor pop to match the rest of the spread’s energy. Still, it was a solid, satisfying, and elegant iftar.
Overall, Ottoman Taverna delivered a lovely Ramadan experience — stylish, soothing, and absolutely worth returning for. I’ll be back next Ramadan… maybe even sooner if I get nostalgic for that bread.

The staff were very polite. The restaurant manager came to our table and chatted with us, which was a very kind gesture. Actually, the most important thing was that all the appetizers were amazing. Our favorite first course was hummus, followed by falafel, sigara böreği, dolma, and the main courses. We went to the kitchen to thank the chef and his team for these wonderful dishes. OttomanTaverna is truly a wonderful place with its ambiance and food. I highly recommend it to everyone.

This place is great for Turkish food. We got the lunch specials with an appetizer, main entree and dessert.
We got the pembe sultan, which was a very rich good beet mixture. The muhammara red pepper spread was also excellent along with the fresh hummus. I ended up with getting the Adana kebap. The beef was very tender and delicious and seasoned very well. It went very well with the pilav and carrot red cabbage slaw. Overall the flavors were excellent.
The staff was very nice and attentive to us. The space is very beautiful and can be partitioned for private parties or intimate dinners. Highly recommend.

My friend and I decided to try this place for lack of any other reason that we did not know where else to go on a Wednesday night. Ottoman Taverna is the type of restaurant that I feel like you see a lot of in DC – tapas style food that seems overpriced if you order a la carte, but if you order from their set menu then it seems like a good deal. My friend and I ended up doing the shared set menu, with each person choosing their own thing from each of the categories. For my main course I had the moussaka and my friend had a kebab thing. All the food was decent and reasonable for the price point (at least for DC). The moussaka was not the best I have ever had (and clearly was reheated), but it was not bad. Where the restaurant needs serious work is with the service and the overall presentation. Exhibit a) – the food menus (see photo) were wrinkled, and covered in food stains – they were disgusting. The other problem is the service – inattentive, arrogant, and frankly downright rude. When I got to the restaurant the host (who was also our server) was having an issue with another customer, and instead of seating us or getting another staff member to seat us, he made us wait – unnecessarily while they dealt with another customer’s order issue. Throughout the meal, he made us feel rushed, was condescending about our meal choices, and ruined the experience. Also, the restaurant automatically adds 20% service charge so that may explain the flippant attitude of the staff. The restaurant atmosphere is what you would expect of this type of restaurant, and while it was not busy it also somehow seemed understaffed. If you get a booth seat, the seating is weird, instead of having two chairs facing the booth, the seating is designed in a way that you have to sit next to the person (almost like a date), awkward for chatting, I moved the chair so I could face my friend – but it really was a weird layout. Overall, while the food was not bad, and I could be convinced to go back – I wouldn’t elect to go here again anytime soon.
