The restaurant is bigger than I expected, with a really nice vibe.
The staff were super friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious.
It’s a mix of Japanese and Korean dishes, and everything we tried was full of flavor.
I’m already planning to come back for more!
Highly recommend if you’re looking for tasty food and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
I really like the kimchee fried rice….whew it’s spicy lol
I wish I could recall the last roll pictured. It was a compressed roll. So delicious and unique texture because of it being compressed.
I look forward to visiting again ☺️
I had an incredible dining experience at Otto Izakaya, and a huge shoutout goes to our server, Stephanie, who made the evening truly special. She was friendly, efficient, and spot-on with her recommendations, guiding us through the menu with enthusiasm and expertise. Stephanie suggested the Playboy roll and the Ribeye roll, and wow, they were absolute highlights— the Playboy roll with its fresh, spicy kick and creamy textures was addictive, while the Ribeye roll brought a savory, melt-in-your-mouth beef element that paired perfectly with the sushi rice. Both were innovative, high-quality, and left us craving more.
The vibe at Otto Izakaya is lively yet intimate, ideal for a casual night out or date. Stephanie was attentive without hovering, handling our orders swiftly and even accommodating a last-minute substitution with a smile. Her passion for the food shone through, making us feel like regulars. If you’re heading there, definitely ask for Stephanie and don’t miss the Playboy and Ribeye rolls—they’re game-changers!
We’ll be returning soon; Otto Izakaya is a gem for sushi lovers!
CONS: I honestly don’t have very many. We waited a while for our check, but the waitress was incredibly nice so we honestly hardly noticed. You do have to mention you’d like to take advantage of the happy hour, though, or it won’t show up on the check – but I didn’t let that affect the review because we failed to say something.
PROS: The quality of the sushi was great – the rice wasn’t overcooked and the pieces were well put together. The Gamecock was my favorite, but we also ordered the Baked Salmon roll, the Hurricane roll, and Samurai roll. They have a buy-one get-one half off option for the sushi rolls which was also pretty cool. Their drink selection was also great. I’m a cider drinker and I’m always perturbed when a bar doesn’t have even one option, so I have to switch to seltzer. This place had two options, one of which was one of my favorites: Blackwidow. We ordered an appetizer, which was basically just fries and spicy mayo. Still delicious!
Overall: I’d definitely eat here again.
