We stopped into Timothy O’Toole’s Pub and sat at a bar table. The experience was a mixed bag from start to finish.
One of the bartenders was fantastic, attentive, friendly, and on top of everything. Unfortunately, the other bartender was the complete opposite. While we won’t get into specifics, the difference in service between the two was noticeable and disappointing.
Things really went sideways with the food. Even though we were at the bar table with both bartenders waiting on us, our order somehow got messed up. The meals came out at different times, and one dish had clearly been sitting under the heating lamp for far too long before it hit the table. That is always frustrating, especially when we are trying to eat together.
To top it off, the prices are on the higher side for what is essentially mediocre bar food. For what we paid, we expected consistency and solid execution, and this just did not deliver.
Overall, not a terrible experience, but certainly not one that makes us eager to return, especially with so many other options in Libertyville.

This was my first time visiting O’Toole’s in Libertyville, and overall it felt about on par with what you’d expect from a chain restaurant. The menu has a large variety of options, which I appreciated. I tried the O’Toole’s original burger with fries, it was decent, though a bit pricey for what was served.
The service was good; our waiter checked in on us frequently, which was especially noticeable given how busy it was. The ambiance was pleasant overall and fit the setting well.
That said, it’s more of a spot I’d go to for a group event rather than somewhere I’d choose to visit on my own again.

Mister Bond
This is such a great place to meet friends or family to enjoy some fantastic food and fast friendly service. The menu is so full of delicious options. I seem to try something new every time and each time it is delicious. Great for conversation without feeling like you have to yell over everything else going on. Even the music is just right with some great classic rock tracks at the right level to appreciate without drowningout everything.

Keaton was amazing! Even during the rush, he stayed upbeat, organized, and completely on top of all his tables. You could tell he had great control of the floor and managed the busy atmosphere effortlessly. Service was fast, attentive, and friendly the entire time. He made the experience fun and stress free despite how packed it was. O’Toole’s as always has the best food too:) definitely one of the best service experiences I’ve had!

This is a wonderful place. We had boneless wings, sheperd pie and the original burger. Everything was great, particularly the sheperd pie. The burger is solid, a classic nice burger. The fries and the bread in general were awesome. We’ll come back!

I worked with Eric to plan a surprise retirement party for my dad. It was I’m the middle of a polar vortex and I was so worried about people canceling and it affecting the party. Upstairs was set up beautifully and the food was amazing. The staff was so friendly and there was even a stage to give speeches. He had an amazing time and my family loved the night. If you’re looking for an event space this is the best and I highly recommend it! Eric thank you for a wonderful event!

I’m still drooling about the Birria Grilled Cheese from O’Toole’s Libertyville! The combination of tender beef, melted cheese, and that incredible consommé on the side had me sold. But it’s not just about the food – their draft beer selection is on point, and the seasonal cocktails are worth trying. The deviled egg flight was a genius move, especially the cacio e pepe and pork ones. With a menu this good, it’s no wonder I’ll be back for more. The service was top-notch, and the ambiance was very homey. If you’re a fan of Timothy O’Toole’s in downtown Chicago, you’ll love this Libertyville spot just as much. Can’t wait to come back and try more.

My wife and I came in last Friday afternoon to have a late lunch/early dinner & some drinks at . We sat at the bar and Caitlin took care of us. I had a mule and my wife got an old fashioned, both of which were great. When we switched to beer I was unsure what to get because I’m not a huge craft beer drinker. Caitlin offered a couple suggestions and I decided on little big hop which was just what I was looking for. My wife got the Ninja vs Unicorn which was right up her alley. O’Tooles has a great menu so we had a hard time deciding what to get, thankfully the bar wasn’t super busy because we again asked Caitlin for recommendations. For food starters we got the pork belly boa buns, and deviled egg flight. Both were fantastic, but the bao buns were so good we actually got a second order. For main food I got the ahi tuna bowl and my wife got the wild mushroom bowl with salmon. Again the food was fantastic, the portions were big and we went home with take home boxes to enjoy later. We will definitely be back next time we’re in town. Great food, great drinks, knowledgeable & friendly staff who aren’t too busy ignoring you to chat about the menu or just what’s going on in your day. Thanks Caitlin for your great service! Unfortunately we didn’t get any pictures because we were too busy enjoying ourselves and the food!

Lauren was super fabulous and cool! The food was so good and so many good options. Lauren was patient, kind and so professional. Just a great person and goes right with the cool vibe of the restaurant. She even had multiple large high school dance kids parties and you could not tell. We did not wait for a thing!
