This is our second time enjoying our date night dinner at the OTH Chophouse. Our server was fantastic and gave the best description of the dinner entrees. The sunset views were picture worthy and the atmosphere was calm and relaxed. My husband and I have never seen a lobster tail that big before and perfectly cooked. My scallops were also perfectly cooked. The seasonings were on point for traditional French culinary cuisine. It was worth every penny for us.

The views are fantastic and the building has been tastefully renovated. There are three areas where you can eat: the main dining room with large windows views over Roanoke, a smaller bar area with very nice tables close to windows as well and no loud tv’s, and a dining area with smaller windows, towards the back of the restaurant. For the best views you should make a reservation and mention that you like a view over Roanoke. The bar area is walk-in and usually does not require a reservation. That is where these photos are made from and to our surprise it had privacy, tasteful interior and wonderful views!.
We started with an oyster dish, of course, and also tuna tartar, both very fresh and sinfully delicious. For the main course we had fresh crab cake and a delicious fish, of which I forgot the name. We were impressed with the quality of the food as well as with the friendly service and cozy atmosphere.
As a matter of fact we went again this weekend and we are planning to go back again. I can wholeheartedly recommend this awesome restaurant!

I am so shocked at how wonderful of an experience I had. I had only eaten there once when it was a different restaurant. But rest assured, this restaurant is more than a name change. It has been completely overhauled. This is an upscale place with prices to match but with the flavor to back it up. Our entrées were wonderful and our main course left us speechless. It was so much food that we had to take it home to enjoy the next day. My only regret was that I didn’t write down my waitress’s name. She was attentive, kind and friendly, which is rare. I look forward to visiting again. Hats off to the chef…you did your thang!

This is a great place! My husband took me to engagement dinner before our wedding and some other times. Great place, food is excellent, service is excellent and so is the location. Perfect for date, special events. The atmosphere is amazing with soft background music just loud enough to hear, but knot obnoxious. It’s pricey, but worth it occasional treats.

This is one of my favorite restaurants and so glad they finally opened one in Roanoke. They picked a great location on the top of one of the mountains with great views of the city and surrounding area. Food is great, our server (Matt get that free car) was great, and the restaurant is great. The 1 and only semi-negative is that they didn’t make any bathroom upgrades from the previous restaurant and it’s definitely not in line with the restaurant’s maturer ambiance. However, it does not in any way take away from the rest of the positives that The Chop House delivers. I highly recommend to anyone sick of the extremely limited few restaurants in Roanoke worth dining at.

Visited OTH Chophouse in Roanoke during Restaurant Week, and there were definitely some highlights. The view was absolutely stunning, and the dining atmosphere felt elevated and inviting.
I started with the French onion soup—rich, flavorful, and a great beginning to the meal. For my entrée, I had the 6oz steak with asparagus and brussel sprouts. While the steak was overcooked (ordered medium rare, but it came out closer to medium well), everything was well-seasoned, and the brussel sprouts were truly outstanding—crispy and full of flavor. Dessert was a key lime pie that leaned more tart than sweet, which was exactly how I like it.
Service was excellent throughout—attentive, professional, and my water glass was never empty. My friends ordered the roasted oysters and loved them so much they ordered a second round!
The one real disappointment was the restroom. The metal stalls and dingy tile floors felt more like a middle school bathroom and didn’t match the otherwise upscale ambiance of the restaurant.
Overall, the experience had some strong points—great service, flavorful food, and a beautiful setting—with a few areas that could use some polishing.

We’ve ate here several times for dinner and also just went for brunch for the 1st time and every time we have enjoyed it! The brunch was fantastic with bloody maria’s to start and candied bacon and crab cake egg’s bendict for the meal. For dinner we’ve enjoyed fried oysters, oysters on the half shell, steak, lobster and the shrimp and scallop scampi is amazing! They have a great cocktail list also! Great views of Roanoke from the restaurant!

NY Strip was tender and perfectly cooked. That’s where the good news ends. Waiter was congenial but not attentive. He only showed up at the table once after the meal was served. He never came to see if the meat was cooked correctly, he never came back for our wine order and didn’t offer my complimentary dessert for this reservation which was for my birthday. The fresh tile fish was not very good. Was hoping to get the sea bass but it was frozen not fresh. Not sure I’ll come back. There are other better choices in Roanoke when it comes to service and food.

My wife and I have visited OTH Chophouse on several occasions and have never been disappointed. Their Thanksgiving Day Buffett was very good, in its variety of items and its freshness. Staff are always friendly without being familiar, and attentive. Ambient music was at a level that one could converse without having to raise one’s voice. Selections on that particular evening were Jazz, by Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, the Dave Brubeck Quartet, amongst others in that style. Loved it! I believe the prices there honestly reflect the quality of the dining experience we had. On a side note, their regular menu also offered a wide selections of dinner choices.

Lobster offered great flavor and tasted fresh. Steak was a bit chewy and slightly over seared. Especially for a ribeye, ordered rare + but was definitely closer to medium. Still tasty.
Service is super nice, professional and helpful. Also knowledgeable with drinks & wine. Happy to recommend tweaks or additions to food & dessert.
Could use some work on presentation and details on some of the more expensive dishes.
Great place to go around sunset time. Would love to see the bar spice it up, offer a sophisticated menu and keep it busy & loud in that area!
Real potential here.
