We had a really fun time at Otaru. It’s a small place. They keep the door locked and let customers in as they arrive. I had the omakase. $108 and a lot of fun! The fish was delicious and I absolutely loved trying everything. The waitress was extremely knowledgeable. She described each dish or piece, told me how to eat it and what order to eat it in. If you like trying interesting sushi I would highly recommend! The toro with gold and caviar was my favorite piece hands down!The rest of my party ordered off the menu and enjoyed their dinner too. We finished up with a piece of wagu that was phenomenal!

The omakase is fantastic. This is easily the best sushi I’ve had in CT, and was even better than some of the more expensive NYC places we’ve been to. Sitting at the bar is fun also, watching the chefs carefully prepare each piece was mesmerizing. Can’t wait to go back. Also, parking is validated in temple garage.

Absolutely amazing. Omakase was very impressive. One of the first pieces of mackerel immediately blew my socks off. The o toro was to die for. Oysters were superb. Didn’t catch where they were from. Loved the hand roll towards the end and the pickled sweet tomato was a yummy finish.

INDESCRIBABLE!!! We did the classic 16 piece omakase, and it was phenomenal! If you are looking for a sushi of the highest quality, don’t look any further! So much better than many other famous NYC sushi places without a doubt!

AMAZING!!! I was there on Friday for Omakase and it was beyond great! The chef that served us was very professional. Besides the food, they are also doing very well at keeping things clean and having clear glass/plastic up to separate each sections. Would definitely go again!!

Hands down the best sushi in CT! Absolutely fantastic, every bite is perfectly planed to complement the next. If you love true sushi this is your place. This is now my go to, no one can compete with the quality they offer! The sign on the door is true…. if you want noodles and “American sushi” this is probably not your place but if you want the real deal this is the spot!

The sushi here was exquisite! This has to be the best & freshest sushi I’ve ever had. The server here was very welcoming and she was very nice. The food came out fast and was very delicious. My taste buds were in heaven with chefs Sunny’s creations. The atmposphere was very calm and very pleasant. If you are a sushi fanatic I highly recommended giving Otaru sushi a try, chef sunny will not Disappoint you.

This was my first time trying omakase. I love sushi, and have been eager to try this experience. I saw positive reviews here and decided to give it a go. This was the best sushi I’ve ever had. The flavor profiles were incredible and the umami was incredible. Each course had the right amount of add-ons such as soy sauce or vegetables, courtesy to the chef. I look forward to coming back and was a great experience. The fish was extremely fresh and tasty. You know it’s good when you enjoy ingredients/dishes you never did. 5/5
