We live fairly nearby, and have visited this location through several changes of restaurants. So far from my experience tonight, I am excited about this one. It took a little while, as they are in their soft open and similarly they don’t quite have everything yet. However, what we got was absolutely lovely. We started with the appetizer sampler, so we could try a taste of a variety of things. They did not have shumai yet, so they substituted the spring rolls which were great – nice flavor and just the right crispy. My favorite of the appetizers was the krab rangoons though. Then my husband tried the suimono broth soup, the mystery sushi roll, and the seared ahi tuna salad and I got the O-Taku Chaso Ramen with Chaso chicken. We tasted everything, and everything we ordered was delicious. Finally, we wrapped up with the bananas tempura….and couldn’t eat it all! It was HUGE! They serve the desserts with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and ehat we could eat finished things nicely. (We ordered more than we would ordinarily, but we were curious and will definitely be back!)

I want to thank the owner for reaching out and making sure that everything I’ve wrote was considered. Today, as we walked in, we were greeted within a minute, sat at a table, and then our server came by not long after. His name happened to be Philip. I did get something different this time. Everything came out in less than 20 minutes, from appetizers to entrées, and everything was completely delicious. We even enjoyed a dessert this time. It was just my son and I today, but he’s the real Ramen lover so we were for sure going to try it again. I couldn’t have been more pleased. The only reason I’m leaving my old review here is because the owner was so kind and caring and they wanted to make sure that everything that I did have concerns of last time were taken into consideration. I truly appreciate it and we are definitely gonna be going back. I absolutely loved my bento box. The flavor was just perfect, as a person that doesn’t like sushi with seaweed. I’ve always gotten sushi with a soy wrap. I gotta say, I tried it, and it was just right. I’m too scared to try new things, but I was willing to try it this time just in case my taste buds decided to enjoy fresh sushi the right way. Thanks again!!! I truly loved it.

Normally, I don’t make such a review, but I gotta say it’s been bothering me since. We came in Wednesday around 6 pm. When me and my family walked in, we stood at the host stand for a good 5 minutes. There was no host available. There was a lady, I would like to say she was a little older than our server, who had came by at least three times to the host stand. She never once said hey to us or even told us that somebody would be right with us, and as confused as we were, we decided to take what we thought were menus to a table that we saw open. so we went there and again was never even greeted by anybody and finally, we kind of spoke to who happened to be our server. Not sure if it was even her section and let her know that nobody has helped us out. She was scrambling going every which way she could, to be honest. The only reason it’s the two stars because our server was as pleasing as she could be. I noticed that she was doing a lot of runaround and nobody wants to be helping her out herself. We had to ask for silverware and real menus, not to take homes that were in the slot at the host stand so we can actually try to order properly. The food was decent. however, refills were not offered. We had to ask after my boyfriend’s drink sat empty for a good 20 minutes. I purposely didn’t overdrink because I noticed that it wasn’t gonna help to get down to nothing clearly nobody was helping each other out It wasn’t great, but I think that has a lot to do with the fact that it took a while and by the time we got it, my food came first with the appetizers after a long wait, my sons came probably 15 minutes after that, followed by my boyfriend who got his pretty late as well. I was done with my food before my son even got his. I know that wasn’t on the servers themselves. Obviously the kitchen was backed up, however whenever we were sitting down originally there was a table that was apparently greeted and brought menus and they came in after us. I’m still in unclear what the secret was to get somebody to greet us at the door while we waited patiently looking around especially when that lady came by three times. I’m just baffled. They actually ended up leaving before us. Clearly their food came out on time and everything. I hope that the next time we do come in that our experience is different.
I like to give places another chance and I do know that my son loved the Ramen. I didn’t enjoy my food as much only because I was not in the best of moods by the time it did come out however maybe the next time I’ll enjoy something different anyway. I hope to be able to rewrite this review again to a better one. I would hate to not go back. All I can say is I don’t know the servers name, but she was excellent as much as she could be.

My little absolutely loved the experience! She loves anime and everything Japanese so she was in heaven! Staff was very friendly! We got monthly specials salmon/tuna cake(like a giant sushi without the nori) PLEASE MAKE THIS A MENU REGULAR!!!!! and the magikarp fishy matcha ice cream. We also got the lunch bento box and it was huge! I’ve never seen a bento box with that much size and amount of food (excellent value). My daughter got the Naruto ramen which was a giant bowl of yum. If I had to give anything for a negative or improvement would be the suimono soup was a bit too salty, but in no way would that stop us from returning! We enjoyed it so much!!! Lovely environment and delicious experience.

It was a very nice experience and the atmosphere was very nice. The decor is amazing especially if you’re a anime lover and the food is especially delicious. The menu was very broad and had so many choices many choices that I’ll have to come back to taste more. I would 100% recommend

Very disappointing experience. After about an hour wait for a table we sat for about 10 minutes before a server came over with menus and took our drink orders. We never received our waters. It took 20+ minutes for our drinks (& they were out of boba). It took a significant amount of time for our food to come out. It came out a plate at a time. I had to go get forks from the hostess because our sever was not anywhere to be found. I will say they were quite busy, all the employees seemed stressed. The atmosphere was chaotic, maybe it was just an off night. The food itself was just okay.

We had the best time at Otaku. This is a great addition to the Pensacola area. I highly recommend the food. We tried the nine tails and chefs special sushi. We also got the Tonkotsu ramen. My kids had a blast and so did their grandma. Fun for all ages. Our server was amazing! We will be back.

Otaku Japanese Cuisine has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Pensacola. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Every dish feels like it’s made with real care, from the sushi rolls to the hibachi plates. You can taste the quality in every bite.

The service is just as impressive. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always makes you feel welcome the moment you walk in. The atmosphere is relaxed and clean, with a vibe that works just as well for a casual lunch as it does for a nice dinner out.

If you love Japanese food or even if you’re just curious Otaku is absolutely worth the visit. Great portions, fair prices, and top‑tier flavor. I’ll definitely be coming back again and again.

Was hoping for a new permanent sushi place but this will not be that. Food was good and tasted fresh. The only thing that blew our minds was the Krispy Rice with spicy tuna appetizers. I will come back for a milk tea and these for a light lunch. We did not like the miso soup at all. The anime theme was also lackluster. I think we set our expectations too high.

Food was pretty delicious. Bento box and soup was good. Boba tea w 50% sugar- powder taro flavoring was perfect. Less sweet is way to go.

Took my daughter for a Valentine’s Daddy/daughter date because she’s super into Anime. Walked in and my eyes caught the 7′ Gundam behind the hostess immediately. Our server, Allison (sorry if misspelled) was dressed as one of my daughter’s favorite characters. She was very attentive, kind, and knew much about the culture surrounding anime and really brightened my daughter’s day letting her nerd out for a bit talking to her! She enhanced the experience for us being into it that much. The atmosphere was awesome and the food was some of the best Japanese cuisine either of us have had! Service was a little slow a few times, but it was Valentine’s day, so we understood. Will definitely go back!
