I had such a wonderful experience here! The ramen was absolutely excellent — rich, flavorful broth and perfectly cooked noodles. The service was amazing; the staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a delicious meal. I can’t wait to come back!

Wife and daughter had the beef shoyu ramen and I had Thai noodles. We had Thai iced tea and for dessert lava cake and mango mochi. Everything was excellent. We love this place.

Great place for a neighborhood ramen place. I had the miso veggie ramen, and it was delicious. Not too salty, so easy to customize with condiments. Lots of great ingredients. Just the right portion.

2 of us had customizable ramen, which is a great way to get your perfect bowl.

We didn’t drink, but they have a good selection of sake & beer.

Chicken karaage was pretty salty, so I didn’t love that, but we did finish the app.

Parking is easy.

Kind of loud, but good overall atmosphere. Not inexpensive, but not crazy priced, either.

I’ll definitely come back.

I consider myself to be a bit of a ramen snob, so this izakaya was on my radar. Ever since I ate ramen at Ryoma, I have looked high and low to find something comparable, but broths weren’t very flavorful or noodles were never the right texture and chew. My husband and I decided to check it out on New Year’s day. 2026.
We weren’t disappointed!
The wait was slightly longer than we had anticipated, but nothing terrible. We were sat at the bar and watched food preparation videos from different Asian cultures on 3 the big screen T.V.s the ambience was cozy with minimal seating (seats approx. 20-25) We ordered a karaage chicken appetizer, which was served simply with a side of shredded cabbage drizzled with Kewpie mayo and a dollop of pickled ginger. The chicken was given a light drizzle of teriyaki sauce and was juicy & well-seasoned with a crispy coating. It was enough for two people to enjoy.

About 15 minutes later, we received our orders which were a bowl of tonkatsu ramen & a bowl of shoyu ramen. Both bowls were adorned with an ample amount of toppings like bamboo shoots, hard-boiled egg, chashu pork, nori and green onions, which come with the order, (although there are plenty of other al-a-carte options you can purchase to add to your bowl) Mine came with an unctuous creamy broth that was full of umami flavor and noodles that were not too thick and had a pleasant “Al Dente” texture to them. My husband’s shoyu broth was also rich and flavorful, topped with similar items.
Every bite and sip was as enjoyable as the last. Simply put, the lastest and only contender with Ramen Ryoma. Absolutely delish! Go early if you can ensure being seated quickly and be prepared to have your tatsebuds treated right!

REMARKABLE RAMEN SPOT

I’ve been to this spot twice now and my husband three times. We both love how close to our house it is, the ample parking available, and the big menu it has in addition to the ramen. There really is something for everyone on this menu.

This is in the top 10 ramen shops in Portland for sure, but definitely not the top 5. Chashu pork is decent and their miso eggs are PERFECTION, but their broth is somewhat bland and lacking the depth I like to experience in a ramen. I would also like to see them using a more quality noodle such as Sun noodles, but maybe I’m in the minority there. If the noodles are Sun, they were over-cooked sogginess the time I didn’t get the crispy noods. I also would’ve appreciated the ramen broth temperature to be way hotter when served to me.

Per the server yesterday, they have several items on their appetizer menu that are housemade:
Gyoza
Takoyaki
Karaage
Tuna Corn Rolls
Crab Rangoon
PP Wings

Since I’m a sucker for housemade items, we went for the spicy karaage and it was delicious. I want to try the takoyaki, gyoza, or crab rangoons next time.

Hub’s drink was finished before the ramen came out and he was not offered another. He had to flag the server down to ask.

Restaurant was a tad dirty. Condiment caddy was dirty/oily, booth seat dirty, and mess on floor.

UPDATE JULY 2024
Much better service and cleanliness these last two visits. We tried their wings and they are PHENOMENAL. Khao Soi was mid due to stale noodles. My husband’s ramen noodles were not too soggy this time.

We keep coming back to this spot, as it’s the best ramen LO has to offer and their other dishes are pretty rad as well.

We went here last minute on a Friday night and were greeted and seated immediately. There was a nice family friendly ambiance as well as several neighborhood locals on date night. We sat at a corner table and ended up meeting another couple at dinner and chatted for a long time.

During dinner, my partner loved his spicy ramen so much that he ordered another bowl of it and devoured it in one sitting.

Delicious- even for gluten free eaters 🙂

I had some kind of soup With pork And egg in it. It had ramen. I just can’t remember the name of it But it was really good and it had a little bit of spice to it I would recommend it. It wasn’t miso Ramen and it wasn’t tonkotsu Ramen. The soup was something that the employee recommended to me. Very fast service.

Good food, but they sat us in the storage room (one other family was in there) with boxes of toilet paper and some luggage and we ate in there, because they were busy in the main room. Horrible

Food was mediocre at best. We ordered the miso ramen, shoyu ramen, karage, chashu fried rice, and edamame. Both ramen bowls noddles had no “Koshi, over cooked, the miso ramen broth was so rich it overtook the flavor of everything. Karage was decent as was the edamame. The best thing we had was the fried rice and that was also ok at best.
