Social Profile:

Savio Volpe is a restaurant styled after the classic osteria — featuring rustic fare in the Italian tradition of freshness and regionality, using ingredients gathered from the nearby lakes, oceans, farms and fields. Everything is prepared in the simplest, most flavourful way, with pasta handmade fresh every day — fatto a mano in casa — and meat, poultry and fish kissed by smoke over the wood-fired grill and rotisserie. The 75-seat osteria, which was named ‘Best Italian’ at the 2019 Vancouver Magazine Restaurant Awards, also features a long list of friendly Italian wines and old-world coffee to inspire conversation and good cheer among friends, family and strangers alike. By Banda Volpi, the gang behind Elio Volpe, La Tana, and Pepino’s.

Housemade charcuterie & wood-fired Italian fare served in an industrial-chic restaurant/bar.

The atmosphere and service were both great!
I did feel that some dishes were a bit on the salty side
I think the flavors would suit people who enjoy drinking wine or cocktails ✨

I really appreciated that our server checked in with us frequently. When I honestly said one dish was a little too salty for me, they immediately changed it for us, which was very thoughtful. Looking back, I probably should have mentioned from the start that I have high blood pressure and prefer lighter seasoning

I wasn’t sure what to order, so we left it up to the server. We had a 5-course meal for my partner’s birthday dinner, and I’m truly grateful for the wonderful hospitality and care we received. Thank you so much

Next time, I’ll do a bit more research beforehand and come back to try different dishes. This has definitely become one of my favorite restaurants!

Osteria Savio Volpe absolutely blew me away! The food here is on another level — beautifully prepared, full of flavour, and made with so much care. Every dish felt like comfort and craftsmanship in one.

The pasta was a standout: perfectly folded, silky, and coated in a rich, savoury sauce with just the right amount of texture on top. It tasted as incredible as it looked.

The main course was cooked with precision — tender, flavourful, and paired with roasted vegetables that added depth and warmth to the plate. Everything was balanced and thoughtfully plated.

And the dessert? Stunning. Light, creamy, topped with fresh fruit and slivered almonds, and finished with a dusting of sweetness. A perfect ending to an amazing meal.

From start to finish, Osteria Savio Volpe delivers an unforgettable dining experience. If you haven’t been yet, you need to try it — absolutely a must‑visit!

Excellent Italian restaurant. The pasta is so good. I believe they make them in house. For me, it’s actually the best in terms of texture it has it’s good firmness (al dente) in Vancouver. I wouldn’t say it goes with the sauces though but it’s ok. The grilled steak is also excellent. To top it all, the dessert is a bomb. Ambiance is warm. Service is top notch. Price is on the higher end in terms of Italian restaurants in Vancouver but still I’d find it worth it.

Great place for special occasions. The food was great as was the service. We started with the cheese and salumi appy plate, beet and kale salad as well an order of meatballs. We had the spot prawn pasta special as well as the braised been agnolotti for our pastas. For our meats we had the pork chop, ribeye and the chicken with roast potatoes and brussel sprouts as the sides. All the dishes were well prepared and the chicken was my favourite of the meats. So juicy and tasty. We enjoyed all the dishes and finished everything. Thanks for the birthday surprise!

We finally got to try this well-known restaurant, and it completely exceeded our expectations !!!

We started with the Carne Cruda, which was incredibly tender — easily one of the best we’ve had. The Lingua di Vitello with tuna sauce was beautifully balanced and surprisingly delicious.

For mains, the True North Flat Iron steak was unbelievably tender; we absolutely loved it. The broccolini on the side was perfectly seasoned and paired so well with the steak. The Creste di Gallo with lamb ragu was another highlight — springy pasta with spot-on seasoning.

The pistachio cannoli for dessert was crisp, not too sweet, and very satisfying.

Service was exceptional — thoughtful pacing, dishes served one at a time, plates changed after each course, and even the table refreshed before our mains. These small details made the whole experience feel polished and enjoyable.

A fantastic meal from start to finish. We’d happily return — highly recommended

Savio Volpe is an absolute gem and easily one of the best dining experiences in Vancouver. From the moment you walk in, the warm, rustic atmosphere makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a cozy Italian trattoria, inviting, lively, and full of character.

The food is outstanding. Every dish is thoughtfully prepared with incredible attention to detail, from the perfectly cooked pastas to the bold, comforting flavors that feel both elevated and authentic. The quality of the ingredients really shines, and the menu strikes a perfect balance between classic Italian comfort and creative flair.

The service truly sets this place apart. A special shoutout to our waiter Steve, who went above and beyond to ensure everything was seamless. His attention to detail, professionalism, and genuine care made the entire experience even more memorable.

Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just looking for an exceptional meal, Savio Volpe delivers on every level. Highly recommend, this is a place you’ll want to return to again and again.

On a Sunday, 5:30pm reservation made weeks in advance on Open Table.
Upon entering, the three of us were warmly welcomed and brought to our table at the corner by the kitchen. A very lively place with comfortable Italian touches and decor. Our server was Conner and we thoroughly enjoyed his attentive service and appreciated his knowledge each of the elements in each of the dishes we ordered.
Started off with Negroni: Volpi Spagliato, Bianco and Classico. All very well made.
Next, Prosciutto di parma with grilled focaccia. Delicious and went well with the cocktails.
For our mains: Pork coppa and the off the menu 18oz ribeye steak. The wood fire grill on meats created a very good crust. Both meat dishes were very flavorful with each having it own very umami driven sauce. Our server made a great recommendation to have a side order of sautéed king oyster mushrooms. It had bits of salumi which we enjoyed. We appreciated the sommelier’s wine knowledge and guidance: Antonelli Montefalco Rosso – Umbria ’22. This wine developed well throughout the dinner mains. We ended with a pistachio cheesecake tart and cocktails Amaro Shakerato. Again the cocktails were very delicious and full flavored. They also kindly added a scoop of gelato with a candle on top as we celebrated a birthday.
Overall, we’ll definitely be coming back! Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner experience here. The quality of each of the drinks and foods we ordered is excellent. It’s a gem of a restaurant. And also well noted is the clean and well attended to restrooms. It’s important to the restaurant experience.

Had a wonderful dinner here recently w the fam. The food quality was impressive across the board. The steak was cooked perfectly, the pasta dishes were creative and flavorful, and everything from The tiramisu was a perfect way to end the meal.
Service was attentive and friendly throughout. One small note: the pasta courses arrived early in the meal which left us pretty full by the time the mains came. Next time we’ll ask for the pasta to come alongside the meat courses, but that’s just a personal preference.
The cocktails were well-crafted, and the overall atmosphere made for a great evening.

First time here. Difficult to book. They have 3 dining time, ranging from 5ish, 7ish and 9ish. 2 hours dining limit. Love their food. Truffle arancini is standard. Beef carpaccio has a special chargrill taste – very nice. Burrata is a daily special appetizer – very rich yet refreshing when eat it together with the sauce. Already felt a bit full after the 3 appetizers for 2ppl. The burrata is especially filling. We then realized it costs $35 though. When we ordered, we originally wanted these 3 appetizers and pasta first and wait to see if it is enough before ordering main dishes. But the server told us that we should order the main at the same time because it would take a long time to make. So we ordered the half chicken. Turned out we packed almost 70% of the chicken home. The tagliatelle bolognese is at par. Bolognese is very soft and tasty and pasta is al dente. Half chicken is very flavorful and soft. It’s the one of best chicken I had. Cannoli dessert is the most disappointing one among all. Cannoli shell is not wine infused, nor crispy. It’s not authentic.

1st time there. Waiter Ryan was fantastic. Attentive and friendly. Food was excellent and so was the service. Parking was a bit of a challenge. Venue was nice but a bit noisy, but given that it’s a popular restaurant (as it was packed for a Monday night when most restaurants would be dead quiet), I guess that’s understandable…thats the difference between a 4 and a 5stars rating for atmosphere. Apart than that, it’s excellent place to taste good food as long as your budget allows for it.
