Having spent a decent chunk of my life living in italy, I usually avoid italian restaurants since they’re more often than not disappointing. But this entire meal made me feel like I had teleported to italy for a couple, blissful hours. The familial setting was comforting and homey, and the food! We started with the octopus which was perfectly cooked and had golden brown potatoes and aioli. Then we got the pizza margherita and the gnocchi, both simple dishes in nature, which allowed the quality of ingredients and texture to shine. The gnocchi were the perfect balance between firm and soft and the pizza was exactly the consistency you’d find in an italian pizzeria (explained by the brick oven in the kitchen). To finish, we got the cannoli and an affogato with homemade hazelnut gelato. I always get hazelnut at every gelateria i go to in Italy so my standards are high, and this did not disappoint. The cannoli had the perfect consistency, and were clearly filled fresh on the spot. The last time i came here, I got the espresso plain and can confirm that it is a genuinely amazing espresso on its own. Whenever I’m in the area, I always make time for a meal here!!

We celebrated August birthdays of three people in our group of nine last Friday evening. I cannot say enough about how positive our experience was. All food, from appetizers to bread to our main entrees, was delightfully good. But what made the evening special was the attentiveness of the staff and servers. Unhurried, Anxious to please, Accommodating. Celebrate at Osteria Maria!

My husband and I stopped here traveling back home, hoping for a nice dinner. We were both very pleased with our meal. Luckily, we were able to seated without reservations (it was a Tuesday night). the atmosphere was charming, food was full of flavor, wine was perfect. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms to share. I ordered the Gnocchi alla Sorrentina with a glass of Moscato D’Asti. My husband had the Fettuccine al Pescatore with a bottled Yingling. Serving size of our entrees were plenty, flavor was great, and we didn’t have to wait long. Perfect experience to wrap up our evening.

Osteria Maria is The best Italian restaurants and I’m not only saying that because they make Ricotta Gnocchi. The food is outstanding the service is one on one and they make you feel at home. They take time out to talk to everyone and that’s what makes this more then restaurant. The atmosphere is beautiful. I do recommend making a reservation though. We did and after we showed up it filled it pretty fast.

I have visited this restaurant twice and had two very different experiences. The first time was great with good service and pretty good food. However, the second time was horrible. We ordered a pizza, same as my first visit, but this time it was burnt and so salty that no one at the table could eat more than a bite. By the time we got our server back to the table, we didn’t want to wait for them to make another one. The server offered to talk to the chef and took the pizza back. She returned and said that the chef would comp it from our bill, as if they were doing us a favor. I was relieved as I had no intention of paying for it. Additionally, I ordered a glass of Chianti that was listed at $9 on the menu, but was charged $10. Although it was a small discrepancy, it added to the disappointment of the experience.

We come here on special occasions with family about once a year and love it every time. Amazing food and wine selection! There’s not many restaurants in this town but highly recommend making a stop to Osteria!
