Two weeks after a trip to Italy, my wife and I wanted to dine at an Italian restaurant where we can relive that authentic Italian dining experience. With Yelp’s assist we stumbled upon Osteria Delbianco.
Located in a prime spot within earshot of Bryant Park, OD checks all the boxes for diners seeking a pleasantly satisfying Italian dining experience. A grand old-world exterior and restrained but stylish interior hint at the attention to detail with which OD prepares its meals. For appetizers, we had a burrata salad and beef carpaccio. Both were delicious but it’s important to note that the carpaccio serving was minuscule and did not merit It’s $22 price tag. We ordered a perfect bottle of red Mondavi wine for $70. For entries, we chose oven roasted sea bream, linguine al vongole and risotto with mushrooms and porcini. All were delicious, generously portioned and fairly priced. Service staff were attentive and pleasant – no small feat on a very busy Wednesday evening. Despite the large space, the noise level was quite high as we struggled to carry on a conversation without leaning forward and speaking loudly. Because the portions were large, we skipped dessert altogether.
I strongly recommend OD to those who expect first-rate Italian cuisine and don’t mind a sometimes noisy and boisterous atmosphere. Mangia bene!

Very disappointing experience. My aunt shared a small portion of her dish with a friend, and the server accused us of “ruining the plating” even after we apologized. For the rest of the meal, he kept glaring at her, which felt unprofessional and hostile.

At the end, they automatically added a 20% service charge without telling us beforehand, supposedly because we had a “large party.”

As an Asian family, we felt unwelcome and unfairly targeted. We don’t know what we did wrong.
(Is this the new invisible racism, lol?)
Would not recommend.

I and 7 others came here to celebrate a friend’s birthday. We had high expectations and they still exceeded them. I inquired about a spicy sauce for the complimentary bread, and the chef took initiative to make our table a fresh impromptu spicy sauce. The food was exceptional. All the pasta was fresh and delicious, the steak was perfectly cooked, and all the appetizers were served in good portions. The service was incredible. Staff was fun, helpful and nice. The prices were also very affordable. I plan to go back as often as I’m in the area.

I came to Osteria Delbianco on a recommendation from my hotel concierge after specifically asking for family-friendly restaurant options. Unfortunately, this place was anything but.
I was visiting NYC with my young child while my husband was traveling, and from the moment we were seated, the experience felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming. We were placed next to unfriendly couples (not entirely the restaurant’s fault), but the overall atmosphere clearly wasn’t suited for families with children.
The service made things worse. The waitstaff appeared annoyed when asked for menu recommendations and couldn’t offer suggestions without a grimace. Even more frustrating, no one checked on us during the entire 1.5 hours we were there — no follow-ups, no concern, nothing.
The food itself was decent, but nothing memorable, and certainly not worth the price. In a city like Manhattan, you can easily find much better Italian food with far better service.
Despite the lack of attention and overall poor experience, the bill came to $140 including tip, which honestly felt undeserved.
This was by far the worst dining experience I’ve had in NYC so far. If you’re traveling with children or looking for warm, attentive service, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

The food was flavorful and presented nicely. The spicy chicken was delicious! Perfectly cooked with crispy skin and juicy. We both got the pumpkin ravioli, it could’ve been better with more flavor, but it was still appetizing. The service was efficient and the atmosphere nice and quiet. We enjoyed it for a quick Italian dinner near Rockefeller Center.

I had high expectations for this restaurant. Once I passed by it and the aroma of authentic Fritos misto caught my attention. I decided to give it a try. The menu was different a little bit from the one on the website.
Frito misto was very delicious and it also had zucchini. The pasta and risotto was good enough for New York though it didn’t transport me to Italy. The sauce was too thin and lacking the flavor. The choice of wine by glass or digestivo is very limited and not printed anywhere or so I have been told.
The service was welcoming and attentive. The ambience was nice though very loud sometimes.

If you’re seeking an unforgettable dining experience, Osteria delbianco is a must-visit. From the moment you step through the door, you’re enveloped in a warm, inviting atmosphere. The location is simply perfect, offering a charming ambiance that complements the exquisite cuisine.

The starters, including the succulent shrimp and crispy calamari fritters, were a delightful prelude to the main courses. The lasagna and seafood risotto were exceptional, as were the desserts. The creamy crème brûlée and classic tiramisu were the perfect endings to a memorable meal.

The service was impeccable. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel like valued guests. The wine selection was extensive, offering something to suit every dish
