I ordered a Cheeseburger and fries, my hubby an oyster dinner at market price.

The service was quick and efficient. The atmosphere was an old bar look which was fine because we heard the food was good.

The cheeseburger looked delicious. It was cooked the way I like it and all veggies were fresh. I bit into it though and was very disappointed. The burger had a peculiar taste to it. I couldn’t eat more than half. The taste I was experiencing was in the fries too. I had to eat two mints to kill the taste. The taste was like old dirty oil mixed with a seafood taste. My hubby was disappointed in the oysters they were chopped in small pieces. He ate everything on his plate but said he had a peculiar aftertaste of old oil. He was as disappointed as I was . Service was impressive. The market price of those oysters was 22.00 . He decided we’d just buy oysters and make our own . The place was crowded. Unfortunately we decided we were not going to return.

Went to O’Shucks today with family while on vacation. I’m super happy we stopped at this “dive bar”
The service was fantastic everyone smiling and helping each other out. Genuine care for the customers. Every person was greeted with a smile as they entered. Our server Tammy was also the manager and was super helpful for our first visit.
Food came out in a very reasonable amount of time, only slight hiccup was the oysters were delivered a few minutes after the main dishes and not really an issue cause we were just finishing up our salads so good timing actually.

The food, oh the food.
The coke was slightly under flavored as is most places these days, but the water was nice and refreshing and you should know by now I’m a water snob.
Side salads of Caesar and house: everything was well cleaned and fresh. Nothing to write home about for the house salad but was definitely better than most places. The Caesar salad had a nice tanginess that I wasn’t expecting but thoroughly enjoyed. The provided dressing was portioned properly with great balance to the salads.
I had the grilled scallops which Tammy suggested their house sauce which tastes good, but the scallops were on par with some of the high end restaurants I would eat at. They had a creamy taste with a perfect grill on them. I didn’t use the sauce because they were damned near perfect, I added a very tiny dash of salt cause I’m crazy like that. Very well cleaned scallops and in the 10 jumbo pieces I got only one had the “shell foot” hardened piece wasn’t removed but more importantly no grit as can be found even in high end restaurants.
The fries were the nice ones with batter on them (hint: get them blackened).
Oysters were quite enjoyed steamed, very well cleaned, super fresh tasting, and again Tammy had great suggestions to add for their many options to add with the oysters on crackers (hint: Listen to Tammy).
The fried Haddock was superb. Fleshy texture that was firm but tender, again flavorful clean taste. Enjoyed the batter on the haddock as well especially as being 1/2 British.
Chopped steak is a real chopped steak very tender with super rich mushroom gravy, great flavors.

Mashed potatoes were great with that super rich gravy. Might have to stop back by and ask how that was made.
The building outside looks like a dive bar. inside continues that theme. All of the important spots were immaculate, some of the walls had love wear on them ❤️.
The bathrooms were some of the cleanest I have ever seen especially for a dive bar and on par believe it or not with Buccees and Jungle Jim’s bathroom cleanliness. The themes in the bathrooms were quite nice and enjoyable. (hint: go to the bathroom)
Overall I will come up with whatever excuse I can to return and have enjoyable food and service 11/10 stars!!!

Very busy place for 4 pm on a Tuesday! We tried their very good fried mozzarella sticks and very much enjoyed a Shrimp PoBoy and some Asian wings! This little place had friendly service and was a welcomed and unexpected surprise!

My dad is 70 and loves to drive around and try different food spots. He called me and would not stop raving about this place. He got the fried oysters, fried shrimp dinner with corn, green beans, etc. he said it was absolutely delicious. His friend got a dinner that included mashed potatoes and gravy and the gravy was rich and delicious. He said everything was a 9.5/10. He said he can’t wait to return and try different things on the menu.

We waited for over 20 min to get a seat. No big deal if the food is good. We order our drinks they never came. 20 min later still no drinks. People that came in after we sat down had been served drinks and food. We finally just left our waitress was 10 foot away from the door didn’t say a word.

My steamed shrimp came out overcooked and rubbery, I’m pretty sure it was not freshly prepared, but reheated and still not warm enough.Their vegetables are out of can and very ordinary. The soup was also not house made and was previously frozen. The chicken wings tasted like fish, probably because they were fried in the same oil as the fish. My husband’s fried fish looked good, a nice sized portion, but his French fries looked withered and old. Honestly, I can get fresher food at a grocery store. Not a great experience for me.

I really enjoy small hole in the wall places so I was delighted to happen across this oyster bar on our way down to Orlando. While the service and mom-and-pop vibe were both top notch, most of the food was just not it. I will say they did live up to their namesake, the oysters were huge, fresh, and tasty. Everything else fell quite short — but most egregious were the “blackened” scallops. First time I’ve paid $25 for a plate of anything and left it mostly untouched when we took our leave. The scallops were very faintly dusted with blackened seasoning, but were majorly flavorless outside of an off putting “not fresh” taste, overcooked, and rubbery. My wife barely touched her (frozen) chicken tenders, not a fan at all.

I want to emphasize our server was great, very sweet lady who was attentive and super pleasant. Stick to the oysters and you’ll likely have a more enjoyable meal than I did.

Our group ordered multiple items and had to buy of each. Their raw oysters are $1.50 each market price as of the date of this post. I always eat the first one with no lemon, cocktail sauce, horseradish, or cracker to determine the freshness and these were perfectly fresh with no fishy flavor. Exceptionally fresh and tasted like the ocean. The fried shrimp PoBoy was good. The french fries were my personal favorite type that have the crispy outside with a bit of breading so I definitely recommend them. They had the Friday fish fry and the fish’s batter was very light and the fish flavor was great. Fast service from the two waitresses and I believe one’s name was Bri? They both worked together and checked up on you every time they pass by. If you want to get under one of the waitresses skin be sure to order a water with no ice and then don’t drink it until the end of the meal lol inside joke so if she reads this she might remember us. We sat on the back patio and there was plenty of room. Definitely recommended if you want fresh oysters and we’ll be back the next time we visit family there!

Oh Shucks is one of those places you’d probably drive right by and not give much thought to. It looks kinda rough on the outside and the inside isn’t much fancier. But don’t let this fool you. They have very reasonable prices, ice cold beer, and my ham & turkey club on homemade jalapeño toast was one of the best I’ve ever had. Thick, real meat—not deli slices. The staff were really friendly, and I loved the no frills, no pretense, vibe.

A tip tho – If you sit at the bar, you may be sitting right over a trash bin and you might catch a funky spent oyster-shell smell. But people were absolutely crushing those big oysters, so they’re clearly a hit.
