I’d drive 2 hours to go here
The service was great despite the employees ongoing hustle and rush. They were super friendly and respectful and very very hard working. Tip them well, they deserve it. I ordered two dishes and the waitress told me the flavors would be similar if the two dishes, they really do care about your experience. The food was delightful. Most Japanese restaurants in America don’t serve bonito flakes on the takoyaki, but I was pleasantly surprised when they did. I usually don’t have high hopes for Americanized Asian food but the food stayed as authentic as possible. The vibe was amazing, the interior was very aesthetic. Probably one of my top 3 favorite restaurants.

Great food , the garlic edamame and the half and half sweet potato and potato fries were really nice to start off with . I got the vegan ramen with tofu . I added the spicy miso to it as an add on . The ramen was one of the best I had . The drinks could have been better . The macha drink felt too strong . We loved the dessert as well . Overall it is definitely a must visit restaurant in boulder .

My daughter loves her ramen and whenever she talks about a new ramen shop that she’s tried and mentions nothing but positive things, it naturally draws my attention. Osaka’s happens to be the most recent ramen shop that she mentioned to me and since I was in Boulder visiting her, it wasn’t a mystery whether we were going to eat here or not. We ended up eating dinner here on 9 Nov 2025 and made reservations prior to arriving…and I’m glad we did because that restaurant was jam-packed. Unfortunately, we didn’t get seated as soon as we arrived and had to wait ~14 minutes before they finally called us, but hey, it still beats waiting 45+ minutes.

We ordered the Osaka’s Ramen, Spicy Miso Ramen, Veggie Gyoza (they were out of the pork gyoza), Ika Geso-Age, Tekka Maki, and Salmon Avocado Maki. Everything was magnificent and I was thoroughly impressed with their sushi quality considering I was in a land-locked state. The ramen broth was hearty and had outstanding flavor; I’d even grade the broth at this restaurant higher than some of the ramen shops in my home city of Las Vegas…and to me, that’s saying something.

The service was excellent, minus the longer-than-desired wait time at the beginning (even after making reservations). All the servers (including the hostess) did a phenomenal job that evening considering how busy they were. Our primary server, Kumiko, was very friendly and attentive which added to the pleasant experience I had. I was especially intrigued by the little device on our table which allows you to push a button to place an order and to request your bill…it’s the little things that create the memories at a new restaurant and make you want to return for another visit.

The restaurant’s décor was nice and didn’t feel overwhelming. The price-to-quantity/quality ratio was reasonable and seemed to be in line with the majority of the ramen shops I’ve been to in this country. Although, I was a little confused about the 2.98% credit card surcharge that was tacked on my bill. Would I have eaten here if I knew that beforehand? My answer is yes, I would…but I know some folks aren’t fans of additional charges that’s not the typical price of their meal and the “wonderful” tax. So if you have never tried this place, you’ve been warned. Overall, I loved this restaurant as depicted in my 5-star rating; although it’s probably a 4.7 or 4.8 rating…but since we’re not doing decimal points here, I rounded up. So a low 5 star rating for me. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone and if I’m in the area again (I’m pretty sure I will be), I’ll be visiting again.

I visited Osaka’s in 2024 with friends, and now that I’m back in Japan organizing my photos, I felt I had to finally write this review—because Osaka’s left a real impression on me in Boulder.

What I remember most is how genuinely friendly the owner is. Even in Japan, that level of warmth and open conversation is pretty rare. But it also reminded me of home—because back in Osaka, you sometimes meet those cheerful, talkative “Osaka uncles” who make you smile without even trying. Walking into Osaka’s felt like stepping into that same comfortable, hometown vibe.

We ended up chatting and discovered something that made it even more special: the owner is from Toyonaka, and I’m from Minoh—neighbors in Osaka! I couldn’t believe we were from such nearby areas, all the way across the world in Colorado.

And the food? It’s the real Osaka taste—approved by an Osaka person (me ). Being able to eat that kind of authentic comfort food in Boulder meant a lot.

I can’t casually say “I’ll be back soon” since I’m living in Japan again, but I’m writing this from Osaka with gratitude, hoping this review helps more people discover what a special place Osaka’s is.

What a treat this place is. We were really in the mood for a ramen spot but needed a place that can accommodate gf options as well. This place went above and beyond to fill our bellies. We tried two different ramens (not gf) and one wagyu beef dish (gf). Had a plethora of appetizers and tried a sushi roll. Highly recommend. Everything was amazing, we cleaned our plates. The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable.

This was one of the best Japanese restaurants I have ever been to. Everything was skillfully prepared with top quality ingredients. The shumai were amazing! We had hamachi and seared otoro nigiri that were some of the best fish I have ever eaten. My wife had the shrimp tempura which were obviously made in house and so fresh. And the ramen my son had was so rich with a depth of flavor I cannot describe.

Great restaurant to get some authentic Japanese food and try some new things! Service was kind, atmosphere was inviting, and we got to try some new to us Japanese dishes that made it fun! Huge options for drinks I had never experienced, the tea was delicious! I was able to try their burgers that they only serve on certain days and that is a recommended experience! Had a great time and would recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for some good Japanese food!

My 11 year old and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. We had an early reservation. The staff were polite and cheerful. We really liked the use of the attendant button. We were celebrating my birthday and this really felt like a great way to celebrate. The atmosphere was upbeat and I wasn’t rushed.

A friend who lives in the area brought me here. We had a fair sampling of the cuisine and I was impressed they had a karakuchi sake available. The staff was friendly and well trained. The yakisoba was the best I’ve had this side of the Pacific Ocean, a surprise and a treat.

Everything about this place felt authentic. The food the service the atmosphere. I was recommended to try Osaka by many people so I had pretty high expectations. I was still blown away. The food here was easily the best Asian food I have had in Colorado. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. And to top things off the owner came around and introduced him self and told us the story of his restaurant. You can not beat that kind of hospitality. Anything you try here is going to be great I can’t recommend it enough.
