I love the food at Osaka. It’s always a fun time when you go for hibachi. Watching the chefs cook right in front of you makes the whole experience really entertaining.
I always get the hibachi dinner, and it’s always delicious. The portions are great and everything is cooked really well. The staff is also great and helps make the experience even better. It’s definitely a fun place to go for a meal.

This evening, we went out to celebrate a special occasion. We had high expectations for a great dining experience, but unfortunately, it did not meet our standards. Our waitress, Maya, failed to deliver one of our beverages, lemonade, throughout our entire visit. The food was also subpar. My seafood was overcooked and rubbery. The steak was over cooked and tough. When Maya noticed I wasn’t eating and assumed we were ready for the bill, I expressed my disappointment. Her response was unenthusiastic. I also mentioned that she never brought my drink, but I no longer required it. She acknowledged this by saying okay without offering to adjust the bill. Like this is normal. Presentation was not valid. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.

We came here for my brother-in-law’s birthday dinner and we had such a good time! It was on a Saturday night and it was pretty busy, so we did have to wait awhile before our hibachi chef came to our table. We enjoyed the ginger salad and onion soup while we waited though, so that was nice. Our chef was great and did all the fun tricks you expect when going out for hibachi. The food was super fresh and delicious! We loved the experience and definitely will come back again to enjoy the entertainment and delicious food.

Wasn’t really hungry but we had a half hour to kill and sushi sounded like a good way to do it. Waitress wasn’t exactly rude but certainly not friendly and made a few comments about the fact we were sharing a single sushi roll between two people. Dining room was almost empty I would figure she would be glad to have any customers at all but whatever, I didn’t expect we were gonna spark up a lifelong friendship. the sushi roll was very good. I like a deep fried roll with the spicy tuna and warm cream cheese, wasn’t on the menu but they let us special order it and did a great job, it was delicious.

Showed up at 8:10pm last night, man standing at the counter looked at us, looked at the time & looked annoyed that we were coming in. (they close at 9pm) We ordered our food at 8:15 in the dining area not hibachi. wanted to hold onto a menu incase we wanted more and our server said we couldn’t because they were closing soon. We got our food & my hibachi lo mein & edamame were freezing, not even luke warm it was like they were taken right out of the fridge & served. Worst part of our entire experience is out server Maya never came back to check on us a single time so i could never mention it to her, she just cleaned the restaurant, (adding in that she had 1 singular other table of 2 people) The only time she came back she dropped off 1 small box & the bill we still had 3 plates full of food left & ended up having to flag her down with more boxes after being rushed out of the building. We ended up leaving at 8:42, still 20 minutes left of being open. Horrible experience at a “nicer restaurant” also my bf and i are both servers so we understand the industry but this was one of the worst experiences, and i will never go back to this location

Overall I really like the food.
The hibachi is fantastic.
I usually order over the phone and the service is usually poor. Sometimes they dont pick up, person who answers the phone is rude/blunt. It’s not all the time but it’s kind of ridiculous to call a restaurant when they’re open and for them not to pick up after calling 8 times.

I do not leave bad reviews but we waited over 40 minutes with a cranky toddler before we got our food. We watched others who came after us receive the same item that we ordered 15 minutes before we received it. When it was time for the bill, my husband had the card in his hand on top of his wallet. He turned to attend to our daughter and the waitress PULLED THE CARD FROM HIS HAND!!! This is not okay. We felt pressured to leave after waiting so long because they needed a booth. If we had gotten our food earlier, we would have already been gone. The food tasted fine but we will not be coming here again.

I’m not usually one to offer scathing reviews online but my customer service experience at Osaka was one of the worst in recent memory. What’s worse, based on other reviews, this is a longstanding pattern that the ownership refuses to correct.
I get that foodservice is a challenging industry and business ownership likely compounds the problem if you’re also working the dining room. That said, the main server is what appears to be the co-owner, the owner’s spouse (Maya?). She had no interest in greeting us, a family of three, or exchanging the mechanical courtesies that diners normally expect. That’s fine and I understand that your job is to serve me, not massage my ego, especially if you’re understaffed on the floor. The problem is when you actively make your customers feel as though their patronage is an inconvenience, something to just get on with and that even perfunctory pleasantries are a total chore.
Long story short, we waited probably ten to fifteen minutes before our order was taken, another fifteen for the appetizer we ordered (just edamame) to arrive and forty-five in total when our lukewarm entrees were served. We noted that other customers, seated long after us, were served first. I don’t usually demand prompt service but having a hungry toddler wait for that long really destroys the experience of dining out as a family.
What stands out in my mind isn’t just the indifference of the owner toward her customers, it’s the air of casual entitlement she has toward our money. I had my debit card in hand when it was time to pay, picking up clear cues that she wanted us to vacate our booth for the next visitor. While I was attending to my child, however, the owner wordlessly snatched my card out of my hand, not waiting for me to even register her presence. I am not one who clutches my pearls by any means, but I thought this was genuinely rude and unacceptable for anyone employed in a customer-facing role, much less an owner!
Needless to say, we will not be going back. We had a similar experience the first time we ate here but I chalked it up to a bad day and reserved judgment. Now it’s clear this kind of behavior is just a representative example of how they do business and that no amount of complaints are likely to change that.

We sat at the bar and had our food since we wanted a quick bite and the place was busy, but it was fine because the bartender was very attentive. The food however wasn’t all that great, I had the California roll, and the crab roll..I’ll just say it tasted no different than something you grab quick at a grocery store, nothing special about it, and not alot of flavor, not fresh tasting like I’ve had at other sushi places. But it was plated very beautifully.
