I had a chirashi-don, and the sashimi was a little cardboard-like in texture. I don’t know if it was specific to the day that I went, but the fish did not seem to be in the best state. My honest view is that you can get better quality sushi for a similar or even lower price in the same area. The staff was kind enough, but I probably would not be coming back here for food. Maybe I’ll give their smoothies a try because there was a lot of people coming in for just a drink.

Outstanding as always
Thank you for having vegetarian sushi options that are more than veggie rolls

I really do not like a lot of ice in my drink. I was walking the Michigan ave, feeling not super hungry, but craving the smoothie. I found this place, they have a verity of smoothies freshly made. I asked for kiwi smoothie without ice and IT WAS JUST PERFECT. Absolutely delicious.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while, and I’m glad I finally rolled in—pun fully intended. We ordered the Sushi DePaul, Chicago, Monet, and Beethoven rolls, plus a lavender milk tea for good measure.

The Sushi DePaul was a standout. At that price, it’s basically a steal—like, “should I alert the authorities?” level affordable. The tofu and shiitake pieces caught me by surprise in the best way, and the tamago pieces and vegetable roll were solid backups. But the real star of the show was the Beethoven roll. Fresh, balanced, and that mango? Chef’s kiss. If Beethoven had tasted it, he might’ve composed a whole new symphony.

The Chicago roll was great too—definitely something I’d order again. The Monet, though… let’s just say the scallion threw off the vibe. It wasn’t my jam. More like a painting I didn’t quite understand. I wouldn’t reorder it, but I respect its artistic ambitions.

Shoutout to their ginger—it did its job as a palate cleanser so well it deserves employee of the month.

The matcha and lavender milk tea were both good, though I do wish the matcha came in a slightly larger size. I’m not saying it was small, but I’ve seen bigger cups at a dentist’s office.

Overall, great experience, great rolls, and I’ll definitely be back. My stomach is already practicing its happy dance.

8 bucks for a small hand roll about 3 bites. Also didn’t tell me the cream cheese is a dollar extra and mayo drizzle is a dollar extra too. I feel like a roll should come with at least a little mayo idk. Watermelon smoothie is rly good tho worth the seven bucks.

really damn expensive for this juice shake, but then again, it is right along Michigan avenue by the loop. I would suggest getting a handful of toppings to really deck it out! otherwise what’s the point!

fruit was real and fresh and the whole thing came out reasonably quickly, despite the big crowd.

I ordered a Strawberry/Mango smoothie and was charged a little more than what was priced in the menu. Thr cup looked more like 16 to 18oz, not 24oz. I also had the Spicy Salmon roll that was already prepared. It was my first time there so overall things were good.

2.5 / 5 Stars – We ordered to go. I got the Unagi-Don, the rice was cooked perfectly but the eel was so fishy tasting that I could not finish it. The omelette was good even if there was not much of it, but the crab was definitely just imitation.
The miso soup did not really meet my expectations but the California roll was good.
Overall, meh.

Most affordable sushi is all kind of the same, but Osaka stands out as clearly more delicious without being more expensive. I also love having a wide range of smoothie fruits to choose from, I’m always trying fun new combos. I moved away from Chicago but make a point to hit Osaka whenever I visit.

If it’s nice out, take your food one block north and across the street to the Fountain of the Great Lakes at the Art Institute.

Food was good with lots of options. The signage is a little confusing as to where you order, which is where the sign says to pay. Staff was friendly and it was fine. Rolls were tasty and miso soup had a lot of tofu in it.
