It was our first time visiting Rhinebeck and we had a very enjoyable dining experience at this small but cozy and busy restaurant. The owners are super friendly and social. We saw all 3 generations of the owners family at the restaurant. The owners gave us free mochi ice cream and our kids absolutely loved it. We found we had many things in common and we can’t wait to bring our family here when we visit Rhinebeck again!

Perfect sushi place in my opinion. Small dining room, so quiet and comfortable. The sushi was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The rolls are simple, which I prefer. Not too much rice and very few tempura fried or with cream cheese. Good prices, except the mixed drinks. I recommend avoiding those because they were $$$. I will definitely return.

Unbelievably fresh sushi. Wonderful, subtle flavors, and a terrific selection of sake. The best part of our experience, however, was nine-year-old Xander. He seated us and helped us with whatever we needed and he was funny and delightful. Because he’s nine, I hope he’s not there a lot, but because he’s amazing, I hope he’s there the next time we visit!

Osaka is one of the best sushi restaurants I have ever been to < upstate or downstate :- ) >. This family owned and operated gem makes you feel like you are at a friend’s house for dinner…. Beginning the first time you dine in or out, they take the time to know your name, your food preferences and continue to treat you like a royal guest each time.
Sit at the sushi bar and chat it up with Chef, or go with a group of friends…. I think my favorite is having my check delivered by the 3rd generation …. Osaka never disappoints!
