Great friendly staff and friendly service and the best sushi you can eat for the $ in the Keizer, Salem area. I wouldn’t give this place 5 stars if they weren’t amazing. Excellent server Natalie took our orders we actually went 2 times in one day.

Great place for sushi or hibachi without the lingering Teppanyaki smell on your clothes afterwards. Food came out pretty fast after placing order. We especially enjoyed the hibachi dinner combos. Did not see or received complimentary edamame that evening, as others have mentioned. Didn’t see it on any other tables either, maybe they ran out or discontinued it? We’ll be back.

“On a whim, my husband and I stopped in at Osaka Hibachi & Sushi in the mall in Salem — and honestly, the moment that first bite hit my tongue, I felt like I was back in Osaka. The sushi was that fresh, beautifully prepared, and thoughtfully plated.

We ordered the Osaka Roll, the Bad Daddy Roll, salmon nigiri, white tuna sushi, and some hot tea. Every bite was perfectly balanced — the rolls were generous without being sloppy, the sauces added just the right touch, and the rice was spot-on.

The sushi chef behind the bar was wonderful to watch — calm, focused, and you could tell he truly cares about every piece he makes. The presentation alone was stunning, but the flavors were what really made it unforgettable.

The whole atmosphere at Osaka Hibachi & Sushi was relaxed and welcoming. The staff was friendly, and you could feel how much pride they take in what they serve. This little hidden gem made me feel like I was back in Japan — and that’s not something I say lightly.

Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic, fresh sushi with real heart behind it. We’ll definitely be back — and we’ll be telling everyone about it too!” ✨

Osaka Hibachi & Sushi has had us hooked since day one. The menu? Massive. The food? Always sizzling, always delicious, and somehow always quick — even when the whole town seems to be eating there. And honestly, we can see why the crowds keep growing. We’re on a mission to taste everything they offer, and so far, it’s been a flawless run. Want great hibachi and sushi with a side of fun? Get yourself to Osaka.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding Sushi Experience!

This was hands down one of the best sushi experiences I’ve had outside of Portland. The quality of the fish was incredibly fresh and beautifully presented—the sashimi was melt-in-your-mouth good, and the rolls were clean, balanced, and flavorful.

The staff was attentive, friendly, and genuinely accommodating from start to finish. It felt like they cared about every guest having a great time. I wasn’t expecting to be this impressed, but they absolutely delivered on every level. Highly recommend if you’re in the area—this place is a hidden gem!

Do not come here for the sushi. The rice is hard, unseasoned, and there’s so much of it in these sloppily made rolls that I ate the filling and left the rice and nori behind. The salmon pieces were small in my Alaska roll, had no flavor, and the huge chunks of cucumber were not good. The spicy salmon was a bit better but again, it had so much rice. My friend had the chicken hibachi lunch special and he enjoyed it, but it also came with a roll that had way too much bland rice. I mentioned it to my server who was an absolutely lovely human being and they did give me 10% off the bill, which was kind, but it didn’t stop me from wanting to put the truth out there. Until this place has a properly trained sushi chef, I would stick to the hibachi. The atmosphere is lovely though, with calm elevator music versions of some of your favorite soft rock songs. Unfortunately I don’t believe I’ll be returning.

Since Kyotos closed during Covid, there’s been a need for really good sushi in Salem. I desperately wanted this to be the replacement. Sadly, while they are really trying, the sushi rice is terrible. It was heavy, gummy, thick, just very unappealing and the backbone of great sushi. I’m not sure where chefs go to learn how to make excellent sushi rice but they need help in this department. I’m a little baffled as to how they have such high marks? Maybe it’s people who have never had really great sushi? Anyway, I hope they deal with this at some point. I may go back and sit at the bar and try to engage them if it’s the same as we had at dinner. I’d love to see a really great Sushi place again!

Best hibachi around!! Although they don’t have the traditional hibachi chef performance, it doesn’t matter because the food is that good. First, a nice touch is complimentary edamame to start. I had the filet mignon with grilled shrimp, grilled veggies, fried rice and onion soup and crispy and cold ginger salad. My steak was cooked perfectly and everything was seasoned perfection, I was really impressed with the tender juicy steak. Two great sauces accompanied the dish a ginger dip and a tangy yum yum sauce. Our services was awesome, made us feel comfortable. I hope everyone can stop by and try it out. They have fresh sushi bar too. Saving that for next time! Two thumbs up.
