Pecan Smoked Pork Rack with sweet potatoes was talking to me from the menu card. Way better than the double thick chop I got at Emeril’s Tchoup Chop in Universal Studios Orlando a few years back.

I wanted to share my experience at The Ormond Manor, an excellent restaurant I recently visited. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed meal. The staff were attentive and friendly, making sure every detail was taken care of. The menu offered a great variety of dishes, all prepared with fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. I especially enjoyed the flavorful entrees and the delicious desserts. If you’re looking for a place with great food and a welcoming environment, I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try. You won’t be disappointed!

I took my wife and (grown) son this evening. It was sadly fairly empty – sadly because it deserves to be better patronised. It’s not cheap, but it’s not horrific either, and the quality of our food more than justified the cost. The service was attentive without being pushy and the food was really excellent.

This place had it all, but would’ve driven right by it. This is a hidden jewel. They have amazing, fine cuisine and regular everyday food. I had crab bisque and stuffed shrimp with rice. My husband had the Seaford platter with fries. The price point was similar to a nice restaurant, but not a once-in-a-lifetime experience. (It won’t break your budget. But salad is not included.) You need to find this little plantation. We’ll be back!

Food was excellent, the dinner area was nice, the table service was awful. We spoke to the manger, he was no help. One member of our party did not receive their entree until 30 minutes after the rest of the party. We told the manger to cancel it but they did eventually send it out. We told the waiter we didn’t want it but he left it at the table. No one touched it. When we where done, it was boxed up with the rest of the food. When the bill came, they charges us for it. We had to ask to have it removed form the bill. We will probably give them another try as the food and atmosphere were very good ,and the location is convenient to our home.

I am now I am writing this as a warning to other couples looking for a wedding venue. We initially selected Ormond Manor as our venue for our microwedding, and this was the worst decision we could have made. Everything we did was based on this location that is at least an hour drive for everyone, so I also based our vendors in that area. I paid my deposit at the end of November and everything was good to go. I sent an email to the coordinator, Lindy, three months before our date to start getting our timeline together as my vendors started requesting timeframes and we had people coming from out of state. I received no response after a week, so I emailed her again, and still no response. The third week rolls around, I email, get no response again, so I call Ormond. I spoke with an employee who instructed me that Lindy was not available, but she will tell her that I called. Still no returned call or email. I call again the next week and speak to the same employee who instructs me that she did give Lindy my message, Lindy is not available, but she will tell her that I really need to speak with her. Still no contact. Based on that, I started freaking out and canceled our contract via email within the timeframe to receive my deposit back. Finally, after almost two months of trying to reach her, I receive a call from a private number. It’s Lindy and she instructs me she must call on a private line “off the record” and that the owners did not approve the contract I had initially signed, they want to now change our wedding and reception to something that either fits what they envision or to charge me double for what we already agreed upon. Also, her reasoning behind not returning my communication was because she “thought I would get the hint.” The conversations literally had a tone of middle school drama that I can’t explain, and I was just absolutely appalled. Keep in mind this is a microwedding, our budget is small, so that deposit was a big deal to us, so no I’m not just going to “take a hint” and leave all my money with you. I am only assuming, but I’m fairly certain they were waiting for me to fall in the timeline of not receiving my deposit back, and THEN telling me they could no longer accommodate us before returning communication. I asked her about receiving our deposit back, and it took my husband getting involved to get any type of response from her. The owners were out of town, which is another excuse I received for well over a month, and the reason I was unable to get my deposit back right away. I disputed the transaction with my credit card company and sent them all the documentation. Ormond never actually reimbursed our money, no apologies from anyone, and it took me disputing the charge to actually get my money back. It took us over three weeks to get our deposit back after I canceled which caused us to miss the window to secure another all-inclusive venue, and remember those vendors I contracted in the area? Yeah, now we had to pay travel charges to them for the new location. With only three weeks left until the wedding I was able to scramble and find a beautiful Airbnb, ordered food for catering, and my AMAZING wedding party and husband were able to throw together the wedding. The reception was nothing like we planned due to the last-minute planning, but it was still a perfect day no thanks to Ormond Manor. On a side note, my husband and I also went there to eat the food, and I am almost grateful this happened, because the food we were served at the restaurant was subpar by Louisiana standards. I work in customer service, and I have NEVER experienced that lack of professionalism. I’m sure other brides may have had wonderful experiences here, but ours was absolutely a nightmare.

My husband and I ate at this restaurant for lunch recently, and it did not disappoint! Wow! The petite filet and stuffed eggplant were superb! I believe our waitress’ name was Erika, and she was so attentive and professional! The atmosphere was elegant yet casual for lunch. We greatly enjoyed our time here and plan to return!

I wanted to give this place 5 stars based on my visit in September 2023, however things were different on January 7th with a party of six for Sunday brunch. The server took our order and had a difficult time getting the order straight. She came back to the table twice more after we ordered to clarify who ordered what. Not a problem, we figured she was having to work a double area. There were times when we did not see her for a while as we were wanting to reorder drinks. When our food arrived, items were placed in front of the wrong guests. No problem we got that straight. We noticed that our food was barely warm. I sent back a side order of bacon because it was not only cold but half-cooked. The Belgian waffle arrived slightly warm and without butter or syrup. By the time I got the servers attention and brought butter and syrup, the waffle was completely cold. Other guests in my party got lukewarm food. Management needs to oversee the operation more closely and take steps to rectify these issues. The grounds are beautiful and this place has so much potential! I hope they get these issues worked out.
