I went to Pollo because I always liked the food. I was disappointed at the $16.00 burrito. I mean it might have been worth it if the flavor was good. I didn’t taste cilantro or salsa. There were alot of beans and rice. Very little guacamole. The service was good. It was only me the owner the cook and another young lady. It was very quiet.

Got the bacon cheeseburger and made it a double. It was perfectly cooked; both the burger and bacon. My partner got a steak burger with fries it is huge for the price. I suggest adding cheese to it. Very large portion of fresh very hot fries. I’m the picture I added that is only half the fries. I had the rest with my burger. Can’t wait to try other food here

Employees and service are great, but the food leaves a lot to be desired. The chicken and rice are obviously microwaved. The salad had rotting iceberg lettuce in it. The rice was so burnt and overdone it was crunchy. The chicken was hard to eat and I nearly choked. Overpriced ($14 for this) for what you’re given, definitely not fresh.

The owner was polite, but the food was only 2 stars at best. I got a denver omelet, which was very pedestrian. It was ok. Nothing special. I saw the cook rub his nose & then immediately touch food on a plate, in the kitchen. I will not go back. No offense, but that sealed the deal. The owner was talking to the cook right when the cook did the deed but said nothing. I already paid for my meal, so I stayed, but I won’t go back.

Location is nice, it is right in the downtown of Berkeley. But the old guy is quite arrogant and food was far from healthy and low fat and gosh, I have never seen smaller portions in my life (maybe that’s the low fat part with diet ….)

Always friendly and tasty! OP is longtime family owned.plus same grill man who always say hi to me, a customer for 20 years. I usually go for the great gyro (extra tzatziki!), BLTs and fresh lemonade, burritos, but all is fresh and made to order.
