The Original Pancake House—Breakfast Royalty in Edgewater
The Pancake House is packed for a reason, and that reason becomes clear about thirty seconds after you sit down.
The space is cheerful and lively—hanging flowers, a giant inflatable bear in a Santa hat, and a crowd that clearly knows this place is worth the wait.
I’m a sucker for impeccable service, and this place absolutely delivers. The staff were so friendly I was legitimately caught off guard and wondered if I had traveled back in time.
I ordered the Original Skillet—a fantastic option for a hearty appetite. Just a delicious breakfast.
The coffee came in those signature mugs that feel like they weigh three pounds but somehow makes the coffee just hit differently.
This is a James Beard Award-winning operation that’s been putting in work and putting it down since 1953, and it shows in every detail.
Run, don’t walk and thank me later.

Best experience at the pancake restaurant.
Not only the food, but also the service from the staff was really excellent. Breakfast meal with pancakes was very good, probably one of the best breakfast I’ve ever had at the family restaurant in America. Also, Ashley, who gave wonderful services, gave me a chance to know more about this restaurant, and I could fully satisfy my visiting at here.

The Original Pancake House in Englewood is a local favorite breakfast restaurant. The food is great, the service is top notch and the servers are very polite. I enjoy the medium roast coffee. The coffee is better here than any coffee shop. The Huevos Ranchero is a great breakfast as is the California Omelette with Feta Cheese. I enjoy the crispy bacon and a side order of 49er pancakes. The atmosphere is busy, fun and cheerful. There is usually a 30-40 minute wait during weekends but there are plenty of seats available. The omeletts are large and fluffy. You will not be disappointed.

Our server Jordan brought us a waffle loaded with fresh strawberries and bananas as a welcome gift. The pancakes, eggs and bacon were all cooked perfectly. We truly enjoyed the whole experience. First time back here in forever and found this Edgewater venue much more inviting. Pancakes are always on point. Solid executed menu and delivered to our table with barely any wait time. Friendly service as well.

Food was served.. waitress missing… half of the food eaten… then she showed up… ketchup and hot sauce came as requested … missing again… coffee mugs were empty already, when will she come back for a refill… ended up asking the receptionist named Franchesca, who of course is very pleasant and helpful and brought us coffee immediately… then waitress showed up again asking if we need anything … is this called an excellent service . This happened at 08:45 am ( 01/7/2026. We are only 2 customers that she has to take care of. At the end we need to pay our bill and again she is missing because she is chatting to her other customer for a long time and who (?) i need to ask again so I can pay my bill.. it’s Franchesca ❤️who printed the receipt and then call Nataly G who is our server so I could pay. Left as a unhappy customer of the day though will still come back because of food quality/ taste This OPH is at 15 The Promenade , Edgewater, NJ 07020.

I’m mainly here to tell everyone who loves pumpkin to try their pumpkin spice crepes! They are that good! I had them while I was pregnant and for the last 7ish months I had been CRAVING them and finally yesterday satisfied that Anywho, service is always great. Maribel attended us yesterday and she was awesome. Even went out of her way to help our friend get an interview their. I pray you get a raise Maribel and an abundance of tips One critique I have is just the bathrooms (at least the one I used yesterday) can be kind of dirty for a nice place to eat. God bless you all.

If you asked for my opinion the food was all right, I don’t think the food is any better than a average diner that cost much less. But the service and environment was great. Don’t get me wrong the food is good but it wasn’t amazing. Would I go back? No. going there once it’s good enough.
