It’s Hispanic Heritage Month! Let’s put our money where our mouth is and support the incredible Latino-owned businesses in our community.
Kicked things off with a delicious meal at Original Mexican Restaurant and it did not disappoint. We had the shrimp, chicken and beef fajitas, chorizo dip with shrimp, beef and shrimp tortas, mojarra frita with chipotle sauce. The margaritas are good too! Especially the jalapeño margarita. Go get you a feast!

Just gonna get straight to it. We normally do take out but decided to dine in. We were greeted by everyone that was up front immediately. Seems to be a family owned business. Service was quick and thorough. We started with drinks my wife had a frozen guava Margarita that was so good she wanted to take one home, i has a 32 draft modelo negra, and we both had a shoot of patron. They brought out fresh salsa and cops that they make in house. We ordered the guacamole fresco and chorizo dip to start. Then for dinner i has the El Cucuy burrito that was FILLED with chicken, shrimp, steak, chorizo, rice and smotherdd with queso omg let’s just say is enough for two people. My wife had the chori pollo that was served with rice and salad. She normally gets the carnitas that is absolutely amazing as well. Overall flavors fantastic, portion very large, price you wouldn’t believe me if i told you, service top tier. Definitely our go to for good authentic Mexican cuisine. Oh and for 5 alcoholic drinks, two appetizers, chicken taco and two entrees I’m not gonna complain about $118 plus we had 3 takeout boxes of leftovers.

Was a good place to eat. Their Salsa was actually one of the best things thdy had to be honest. It had the right amount of cilantro and spices and was excellent. Had the tacos and burrito combination dinner and it was very good. Wife and friends had margaritas with Agave which were actually on point! Staff friendly and joked some with us. Great place.

The place makes you feel good! The food is great, the staff is friendly, the margs are good, and the prices are good. What more could you ask for? I got the fajita nachos and a strawberry margarita and they were both so good! It’s the best comfort food you can get! The restaurant is very Clean and recently updated. Highly recommend for good affordable food!

Absolutely wonderful experience! Great service and the food was amazing. I got the queso birria and the flavor was perfect! I ended up taking my last taco home because I got so full from the chorizo fries appetizer. 10/10 recommend!

Today was the end of an era. I’ve been coming to this restaurant and location for around 20 years now and I’ll never come back again. I placed a pick-up order of enchiladas with rice and beans, a drink, and a side of chips with white sauce which came to around 23 bucks with tip. My husband wanted chips and queso and let me know after I placed my online order…so I order this in the restaurant. I was charged 17 dollars for a “medium” or 8 oz container of queso and a large bag of chips. I misheard the guy as he was ringing up the order and this was my fault– I signed the receipt that wasn’t itemized because I thought I heard “7 dollars”. I walked out to my car, got a bank alert on my phone for the amount, and returned to ask about the charge again. The guy and his manager looked me dead in the eye and reiterated that was the right price and then printed me an itemized receipt (10.50 for the tiny queso and 4.99 dollars for the bag of chips). I’d say this was just a ‘me’ problem but two girls were waiting to be seated and walked out with me because THEY were shocked at what I was just charged. I understand it’s difficult times for restaurants in the city of Richmond but c’mon….this was ridiculous. How was a meal with chips, dip, and drink comparable to a bag of chips and queso? Nah I’m good.
