This long-standing Thai spot delivers bold flavors and generous portions, especially in dishes like green curry, duck curry, and papaya salad. The menu is extensive and pricing fair, but the ambiance is dated and noise levels can be high during peak hours. Service is fast but minimal, and parking is tight in front—better in the rear lot.

Accessibility is limited inside due to narrow aisles and crowded seating. It’s a good stop for takeout or casual meals, but not ideal for large groups or quiet dining. Above-average food, but the overall experience feels rushed and inconsistent.

Loved the Thai Milk Tea. Food was good. I had chicken satay appetizer, which was delicious. I also had a wonton with crab soup. I thought it would be crab filled wontons but it was regular wontons with a chunk of shredded crab in the middle. I would have liked it a lot better without the crab. My bad. Service wasn’t that great.

I’m going to say something some people may disagree with but longtime regulars will understand. The original Krung Thai may not be as big, as fancy, or as busy as the newer location, but the food here has always had more flavor and depth to me. Both locations are good, but if you can’t get into the newer spot (or don’t feel like waiting), I would 100% recommend coming to the original.

The vibe is casual, relaxed, and very family-oriented. It’s perfect for a low-key meal by yourself, with friends, or with a big family group. For a date night, the newer location might feel more fitting, but for pure flavor, this original spot still stands out. It doesn’t offer fancy fusion items like the sister restaurant. When both restaurants first opened years ago, this is the one I preferred, now I’m flexible to either, depending on who I’m dining with.

The food is consistently delicious. Everyone I’ve introduced to it has really enjoyed the dishes too.

Parking is actually very easy, there’s a lot in the back, plus street parking out front, all free. And the service has always been what you’d expect from a classic Thai restaurant: quick, friendly, and reliable.

I don’t have photos to post because I’ve been coming here so long that all my old pictures are buried somewhere in my camera roll. But trust me, if you want great Thai comfort food without the crowd or the wait, the original Krung Thai is a solid, comforting choice.

Highly recommend.

We ate here on a Friday evening right when they opened at 5pm and it wasn’t too busy.
Food was good but on the pricier side. I got the pad see ew which was good!
Overall good experience and we will be back to try a few more dishes.

The portions were too small, overpriced, and the taste was not all that spectacular. Each portion cost nearly $20 but was only as long as a hand. I used to frequent this place before the pandemic for its succulent dishes, but when I returned the day after Christmas, I was disappointed.

We’ve been to this Thai restaurant multiple times and are consistently impressed by the quality and consistency of their dishes. If you’re a fan of coconut, you must try their Tom Kha Ta-Lay soup, which is arguably their best soup. For rice noodles, their Pad See Ew (#44) is a must-try, especially if you enjoy rice noodles. Their Pompano Fish (#77) and Seafood Delight (#78) are also great additions to any meal. The portions are generous enough to share between two people, especially if you order a few dishes. Overall, the food is great, and the service is very good. If you’re a fan of Thai cuisine, I highly recommend checking them out.

We ordered takeout. The food rightly smelled of roasted garlic but the fried rice could have been better. The Po Tak soup was delightfully sour and the Moo kra tiem was crunchy and tasty.

Have tried both the new and original. I have to say it’s completely major difference im service, quality and atmosphere. The new is just way better. Only plus of the original place (this one) is there is no long hour wait ofc. Wonder way.
