We visited Original Italian Pizza in Saxton, PA, and honestly… wow. Everything from the food quality to the portion sizes was way beyond expectations. We were a group of 16 people, including kids, and every single person loved what they ordered, no complaints at all, just happy plates.
The pizza was absolutely delicious, loaded with toppings, great flavor, and clearly made with fresh ingredients. The portions are very generous, and you definitely get your money’s worth. Even the French fries deserve a shout-out, they came out so fresh and hot they were still sizzling when they hit the table.
Service was friendly and welcoming, and even with a large group, everything came out smoothly and on time.
If you’re anywhere near Saxton and craving real, solid Italian pizza with amazing flavor and great portions, this place is a must-try. We’ll 100% be back.

Everything was fresh and delicious. The portions were very generous — the medium pizza was the size of a large in DC! The staff were also very friendly and welcoming. We had a great experience and will definitely be back!

Their menu has all of the classics you can expect. Their pizza is absolutely on point. They prep food right behind the counter, and are super efficient. Very comfortable atmosphere too. Legitimately one of the best pizza places I’ve ever been to, including the places I’ve been to in Italy.

It’s a small restaurant with huge upswing. You walk in and you are immediately met with a true Italian feeling. You place your order from an amazing assortment of food. They bring the food to your table and you just sit there and can listen to the sounds of the cook or talk to your friends / loved ones and enjoy a good hearty meal. Definitely worth the stop!

The pizza is usually good. The drinks are $3.25, and you cannot take the drinks out after you finish your food. The lady at the front said, “Meatballs or sausage?” She didn’t tell us it was extra. They should have asked, “Do you want meatballs or sausage?” The way she talked made it sound like it comes with meat. The lasagna sauce was not good. The noodles did not taste homemade. The total price for lasagna and two drinks was over $22. The pricing and service were bad. The pizza that my parents ordered was small, but they wanted a regular-sized pizza.

Been visiting the Saxton area for nearly 40 years from Ohio for either deer season, lake and stream fishing and or just in for visiting friends. Never a trip is taken without multiple trips to OIP for dinner/lunch during the visit. Love the place, great food, great service.

Absolutely worst OIP I have ever been to. I typically will not complain, but I feel like people need to know about the horrendous service that we received today. Ordered 3 subs that came on overcooked dry bread, so hard it hurt your mouth to try and bite into it.. We called and we’re told that everyone always has something to complain about (Here’s your sign, if everyone is complaining you may just be the problem.) Then we’re told to bring the bad subs back, as if we were just trying to get free food. Drove back for the new subs, the guy opened them and looked at them, gave us our new subs and threw the others across the counter for the other worker to throw them away. The bread is lighter in color but still dry, likely not fresh bread. Subs were filled with vegetable heels. I understand this can happen from time to time but I had 3 on my sub alone which tells me they did it intentionally. Real nice, luckily I am not in Saxton frequently and will never have to eat here again, but like I said people should know. If you order proceed with caution, especially if there is something wrong with your order.

I like the subs the buns are great. I got two Italian subs Saturday and this was all the meat I got. You might want to look into that.
