So let me explain my scenario. I’ve never been here, but on my weekly visit to see my girlfriend she convinced me to come here, since it’s been so long since she’s been here I felt bad.

We went today after a fun days with the kids, got ice cream and drinks, and when we asked about food we were informed the kitchen was closed on Sunday. We ordered, and upon informing the attendant we were going to pay in cash, she rolled her eyes. After watching her struggle counting out the change, we heard someone in the back ask if the Bosco sticks for Ethan were done, which was funny, because the kitchen was closed….

A Lafayette legacy since 1932. You have to get a refreshing fruit drink or some of the frozen custard. It’s also close to the Lafayette Avatars and Columbian Park.

First time coming here. Will def be the last! Went to the zoo thought we’d treat the kids to some ice cream. It was about 75 degrees outside but when we received our custard in a cup it was already semi melted. Told the girls that was working there I asked for a cup not a cone they literally stared at me like I was speaking alien or something. They ain’t even attempt to try and correct their mistake. I ordered 3 kiddie cups and one regular waffle cone. My custard melted at the speed of lighting as if it was directly in 100 degrees sun. Asked for some napkins and was given about 3-4. Even though you could clearly see 6 kids and 2 adults with soupy custard. The custard itself wasn’t even mediocre. I threw more than half of the custard and waffle cone away. 10 outta 10 would not recommend. Waste of money. Ended up buying some shaved ice from that little spot by this place. Should of listened to the kids because they originally wanted shaved ice. Instead we gave this horrible customer service having, soupy custard place a chance. Steer clear of this place and get the shaved ice from the little hut it’s worth it!

Yeah, this place is not what it once was. There’s no dedicated menu, half the stuff is always “sold out”, and the staff seems like they would like to be anywhere but there. To the owners: you have a real opportunity continuing to be here at this location, and can make it great with old and new customers alike, but not with how service and establishment has been going so far. Please wake up and do better, or give it to someone else who can.

Went for soft serve ice cream. It was delicious. I love that it hasn’t hardly changed since I was a kid. I do miss the popcorn machine that was along the side. When we were kids we would dip our cones in the popcorn.

Terrible. Tried to order a hot fudge Sunday, but the worker had no idea what that was. She asked around and gave us cold chocolate syrup and vanilla custard… maybe that’s close enough… Also a burger and fries are 15 dollars! This place has gone down hill. No updated menu, trash all over, dirty tables, workers don’t know what they offer or how to make simple classic items. I love to support local businesses but this was my last time going to this place unfortunately.

47 yes old worst experience I have ever had there .I chose to go to the original (the other are closer to home)ones, to treat my wife to ice cream after surgery . A family of 4 still ordering , then take my order, they receive theirs, then 2 ladies order, receive theirs, then I get 1 item and wait then my other. I would not be mad had it been difficult order it was a large fruit drink(nothing like it is supposed to taste) and a regular chocolate waffle cone. I am horribly disappointed in a place I have had so many memories at . Shame on the owners for letting service go bad. Maybe I should have ordered something that they aren’t known for ! ….Update I just read the other reviews it is pathetic to see the owners reply wow! I hope they sell and let someone bring it back to what it was. I can see what the problems are just by reading you need help good management and overhaul it , kill off the drive through, limit the menu go back to what worked for decades! Budgees is fine because they do what they do and are running strong! SMH ugh….

They don’t serve burgers or anything lunch-like anymore, which was a disappointment because we were hoping to have lunch here after swimming. We got a couple ice cream cones though. They were pretty good.

This is the best frozen custard in town. The service is always friendly. They have many flavors and options to choose from. The drive thru line is often long and takes a while to get through, but that is because the food is so good!
