We have enjoyed Domenic’s pizza for many years, but they are definitely not what they used to be, especially when they are busy.
Our Dominic’s special pizza was so burnt(see photos) and the sauce was really salty, worse than the Domino pizza, at least Domino’s never burnt a crust and at half of the price per pie! This pizza crust from Dominic’s was so burnt it was painful to bite into it, it was like biting into a thin piece of plywood.
You can buy 2 large pies from Dominos with multiple toppings at about the same prices for a single pie from Dominic’s at Washington Xing and it won’t hurt you when you bite into a slice of pie!

If you find yourself in Washington Crossing, PA, and have a craving for authentic Italian pizza, look no further than Original Dominick’s Pizzeria. This charming establishment has earned its reputation as a local favorite, and after my recent visit, I can see why!

Ambiance:
As soon as you step into Original Dominick’s, you are greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor strikes a perfect balance between casual and cozy, with rustic wooden tables, cheerful artwork, and soft lighting that creates a relaxed dining environment.

Service:
The service at Original Dominick’s is exceptional. My server was attentive and knowledgeable. I appreciated their willingness to accommodate special requests, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

Cuisine:
Now, let’s dive into the star of the show: the food! Original Dominick’s specializes in traditional Italian pizza, and they do not disappoint. The menu features a wide variety of options, from classic cheese and garlic to unique specialty pizzas that showcase creative flavor combinations.

I decided to try their Chicken Brocali pizza with white sauce and burnt garlic, which is a classic favorite. The crust was perfectly baked—crispy on the outside yet soft and chewy on the inside. The sauce was rich in flavour, and the generous layer of cheese was melted to perfection.

In addition to pizza, Original Dominick’s offers a selection of Italian dishes that are equally impressive. I couldn’t resist trying their garlic knots as an appetizer. These little bites of heaven were warm, fluffy, and generously coated in garlic and butter, served with a side of marinara sauce for dipping. They were the perfect start to my meal!

We love the pizza! The specialty pizza, especially the honey mustard chicken (pictured), is piled high and so very good, the crust holds the ingredients very well! One piece is easily equal two from any other place I’ve been too. Not as expensive as other places. Expect it to be busy though! We moved out of the area a few years ago and still have to swing by any time we are going through. Not matter how many times you have it it’s still always delicious, would recommend all day!

02/14/2023:

Today I hiked the loop and stopped by here for a quick bite of my favorite pizza again. I had to leash my dog outside of the restaurant. The gentleman working at the bar saw my dog and brought out a bowl of water for him! How nice!

The staff here are always very nice with delicious food. That’s become the attractive reason for my frequent 7-mile hikes on the loop.

12/30/2022: Later I came here for pizza with some friends amid our PA/NJ Delaware River Loop Trail hiking, they all loved the pizzas here! Thumbs up for this little pizzeria!!

Stopped by here on my hiking trip to grab two slices of pizza and two pieces of Sicilian cheese pizza sticks for me and my friend, all costed only $11.50! Pizzas were all very delicious and fully loaded!

It’s quite a small restaurant with some dining area though.

From the moment I walked in, the service was divine! The staff greeted me with smiles that could light up a room, and their attentiveness was spot-on. Now, let’s talk about the pizza. Each slice was a heavenly experience. The crust was perfectly crisp, the sauce was bursting with flavor, and the toppings were fresh and abundant. It was so good I almost cried. 5 stars! If you’re looking for a pizza that’s out of this world, this is the place to be!

I love their pizza, their Honey Mustard Pie is the best, I’m 63yrs old and Pizza is my favorite food, and no Pizza in the Philadelphia region beats their taste, they have many Goumet Pizzas to offer, I drive 35 minutes to get a Pie and it’s the best ever, you won’t regret going there to get their food! Good food and prices. Friendly service. I ordered delivery so I don’t know what the inside is like but I’m guessing it’s a nice clean environment.

Was looking for a place to eat after taking a walk along the tow path and this place is right up the street, so decided to give it a shot.
So glad we did. The food was very good which included homemade bread and a nice Olive Oil dip to compliment it to start.
I had the Cheese Tortellini which was a huge portion (see pic) and tasted great. My wife had the homemade Lasagna. All in all a very nice time.
We sat in the back dining room which is very quaint and well decorated.
Service was good as well.
Definitely will be going back.

Dominick’s was rated Best Pizza in Philly in 2009 (Philly Mag) but really should have won every year since the early 1990s at least. Amazing pizza – from a plain slice to about 30+ exotic “speciality” pies. Best part might be that you can get a couple slices and a drink for $5 or less. I moved to VA/DC where the pizza is far worse and costs about $5-8 per slice!

Dominick’s is a special place. Easily my favorite food, ever. Including fine dining. I wish I could give more than 5 stars.
