Original for sure. Disney couldn’t even recreate the atmosphere. Full bar and coneys just like I remember as a kid… attended an amazing event, but I understand that they are open periodically to the public on special occasions.

This is/was the world’s best Coney Islands, hands down! I remember being a little boy and eating here in the 1970’s…the little old lady making us hot dogs in front of us. Her son that helped her and also became old over the years.
I moved away 35 years ago but I still miss going here. I would plan a special trip to Minnesota to eat here again if there was a calendar of upcoming openings!
Planning on swinging by today if only for pictures. 10/2/2025
Thank you for the memories.

A true classic and step back into time filled with history. A must visit for nostalgia, family, a true Coney Island and if you’re in luck, a bottled Grape soda. Awesome venue for your next special event.

I’ve worn the hat someone got me last year for Christmas finally got to try this place out for beer and coneys. Funny bartender who could match wit and provide great service to our company of drinkers.

The Original Coney Island is a rare and delicious place to visit if building hours allow. Stepping into the building is like stepping back in time, with the art deco bar, original appliances and the best Coney dogs in town. The Coney dogs are served to the public just a few times a year, but when they are here it would be a shame to miss out on this historic treat! They are absolutely delicious! I try to get myself one every year!

The atmosphere in this restaurant feels very u weary and uncomfortable. Mostly if you see how the owner treats other people. Very rude services. Don’t go here.

Was a real great place back in the day. Closed for 20 years, this place opens a couple days a year. My guess is for some fast money from customers that grew up with the place. Family will not sell and will not stay open. The product IS NOT EVEN CLOSE to what they use to serve. I think they are using Ambassador natural casing hot dogs now. Shame. The original hot dogs they use to have were really small and were skinless. They were one of a kind. Very skimpy coney sauce pretty much sinks into a thick bun and disappears. And $5 for one coney. Ouch!!! I dont care if they ever open again. They were awful. Try the Gopher Bar!
