Tasty and flavor is 3/5 in comparison to the Chinese food of the largest Chinese population cities. Portion of the honey walnut shrimp is outrageously small. Other items are okay

It’s hard to find a place that does 功夫茶 (gongfu tea) and finding one nearby that also does dimsum has been a delight. The food is pretty good and very affordable for lunch.

Delicious food and great dinner service! I want to try every dish on the menu. Everything is seasoned to perfection and the price is right. I loved the salted pepper ribs and honey walnut shrimp. Had a great time and looking forward to trying their dim sum!

Have not been to this restaurant for years. Dimsum is good but the classic steamed dishes like Siu-mai, Hargaw, Chicken Feet, Ribs are a bit pricey. They also add 15% service fee on the bill.

The dim sum is decent at this restaurant located right off the Foothill Boulevard exit on 580. Steamed items like Shrimp dumplings, siu mai, beef globes, black bean spareribs are well done and generously sized. Their chow fun is pretty good too. Fried taro dumplings lacked any flavor.

Oriental tea house is in a building that used to be Jerrys Pancake Parade back in the 60s and 70s. That explains the old school diner, 60s style restaurant decor.

Prices are definitely lower than some of the newer flagship dim sum restaurants that have recently opened. I would say you get 15% more for 10% less.

Waitresses were polite and helpful.
Note that they automatically add a 15% service charge to the bill. Also they might also charge for items that they tell you “they ran out of”. Basically inspect the bill closely before you pay.

They have a decent size parking lot but it might get full if the restaurant is busy.
The location is in east oakland so exercise the necessary precautions.

Overall decent value and the steamed di. Sum items are pretty good. Perhaps we went in with low expectations. It is worth a visit if you’re in the area. We feel the same.

I recently visited OTH and was blown away by their delicious dim sum. Every bite was a flavor explosion in my mouth!

The menu was extensive, and I tried several dishes, but some of my favorites included the shrimp dumplings, pork buns, and egg tarts. The shrimp dumplings were perfectly steamed with a delicate wrapper that didn’t overpower the juicy filling. The pork buns were fluffy and moist, with a generous amount of tender pork inside. The egg tarts were rich and creamy, with a buttery crust that crumbled in my mouth.

The service was also excellent. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive, and they helped us navigate the menu to find the best dishes. The restaurant was clean and had a pleasant atmosphere, making for a lovely dining experience.

It’s clear that the chefs take pride in their craft and use only the freshest ingredients to create authentic and delicious dishes. I can’t wait to go back and try more.

Visited last night. It was the first time I’ve been back since the ownership has been changed. This means that the menu has been changed. Unfortunately my favorite dishes are no longer on the menu. This was super disappointing.

I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and try different dishes. My husband wanted shrimp fried rice and we got chicken and corn soup, beef chow mein, half a duck, Chinese broccoli and mango pudding. My kids loved the mango pudding. I prefer fatter chow mein noodles myself but the soup was good and the mango pudding was good too. The Chinese broccoli was probably the tastiest dish we ordered. You can order it to be cooked a variety of ways but we just got the stir fried with garlic.

I didn’t add extra soy sauce or sauces to anything but my salt loving husband did and said it was good.

Overall, the food was fine. They forgot to give us bowls for our soup until a few minutes later (after bringing the big bowl to the table) when I got someone’s attention. Most restaurants bring bowls out right away when you order soup or already have them on the table so your soup doesn’t sit there and get cold when it comes out. Also, the mango pudding dessert was brought out with all the other food which is distracting to the kids who just want to eat dessert all day… it should be brought at the end when you are done with all the other food.

I do miss my old favorite dishes but it was ok. We probably won’t go as much as we used to though.

The floor wasn’t super clean (saw a crumpled napkin two tables over and a duck bone on the ground at the table next to us) and the entryway smelled like cigarette smoke.

Came here because they have good dim sum for lunch. Visiting family in San Leandro. Very good and big serving portion. Would recommend to give a try.

What a dump! We were tired, hungry and wanted honest comfort food…. It’s not here. Owners have no pride nor do they care about their restaurant. Restaurant is run down, dirty and overall very depressing. Ordered Curry chicken and it had ZERO taste, almost like water, rice and chicken…. My lunch partner had vegetable beef and said her beef was so hard she couldn’t chew it and the bokchoi was very old. She wanted to complain, send it back and I said, let’s just eat and get out of here…. What a horrible experience. Def won’t come back here again and YOU would be well advised to STAY away. I’m noticing a trend of Chinese owners who want to make big profits but they’re cheap and not willing to invest in a quality environment or quality food. It’s really sad… I really found it ironic but consistent with the way they do everything else so badly that their good luck fish was neglected and looked like it was on death row…. The tank water was very low and the tank appeared to not have been cleaned in many months, maybe years. See my photos for more… This place is embarrassing. Bad food, bad choice, filthy dirty, broken down furniture and building, strange, unhealthy vibe…. The only good thing is we didn’t get food poisoning.

The food is generally tasty and arrived at a decent pace. The cheung fun was going to take 30 minutes so we cancelled that order. Only had a problem with the siu Mai being flavorless and the tripe was too chewy. Loved the eggy lava buns.

Also we were seated immediately Saturday morning, despite how busy it seemed. It’s great that there’s additional rooms. Only problem is that folks are smoking right in front of the entrance and the smell wafts through the whole restaurant.
