This review is long overdue, and if I could give zero stars for my last experience, I would.
I frequented this restaurant at least twice a week. On Saturdays, it was our go-to spot for Chinese food before heading to events or the option not to cook. The usual wait time is about 15–25 minutes, so we always call ahead to place our order to minimize the wait.
On this particular Saturday, we did exactly that. When we arrived, the food was ready in about five minutes. We picked it up and left. Once in the car, we started eating. That’s when my mom said something felt strange while she was chewing. She immediately grabbed a tissue and spit out what was in her mouth.
Inside the tissue was fried rice, chicken, and a fingernail. A FINGERNAIL!!!!! To be specific, it appeared to be a thumbnail.
To say we were shocked would be an understatement. We sat in the car in complete disbelief. After the initial shock and disgust wore off, my mom went back inside to inform the staff that there was a fingernail in her food. The employees began checking their fingernails while speaking among themselves in another language, which made it difficult to understand what was happening. They apologized and offered to replace the food.
By that point, however, all trust was gone. We could not bring ourselves to eat anything from them again. I discarded all of the food, even the portions that did not appear to be contaminated.
This experience was extremely disappointing because this had been my go-to spot. Since that day, my mom has not eaten Chinese food at all the experience was that traumatizing and still lingers with her.
Would we ever go back? Absolutely not. Not after being served food with a FINGERNAIL in it.

This food establishment welcomed in with warm greetngs and smiles even when busy. The host and hostess are genuinely kind as well as staff. As south amboy grew for the better, so has this food establishment as well (only got better) [ i live in south amboy for 33 years]

Edited 6mos later: food is still amazing, but they are still charging for the extra meat every time and I’m too scared to complain or ask them to stop adding the extra lol.
The only negative I have (and it’s a big one and has happened 4-5 times now), I order no onion in my pepper steak and they add a $2 extra meat fee. I didn’t ask for extra meat to compensate for lack of veggies , and I don’t like it added without it being acknowledged or even approved/denied.. really not okay with that decision being made without my knowledge of it and will say something next time..
However when it comes to the food? Do it. Our usual orders are a some kind of mix of chicken&broccoli, pepper steak, boneless ribs, sesame chicken, fried wontons… everything has been great every time. One of the “better “ meats when it comes to both the chicken and the beef.. delivery is uncomfortably fast at times lol. Prices are average to anywhere else around here but the portions are great. Would definitely reccomend.

I had 2 orders of orange chicken and it was all dried up brown meat not the white chicken nuggets i get at my regular chinese restaurant. Also the pork fried rice was tasteless.
