Excellent! My son and I are foodies from Florida and we needed a Chinese food fix while visiting. My son is a professional cook and I grew up cooking with a Japanese mother who was also a sushi chef and loved Chinese food so we both know what quality Asian food looks and tastes like. We started with the handmade hand-rolled shrimp and vegetable egg rolls that were so packed full of goodness and fresh ingredients that I wish I had taken two dozen home with us! Crispy and sizable I thought I was back in New York and London where the Chinese food is superb. We shared a big bowl of won-ton soup that was hearty with handmade hand-folded won-tons in a delicate broth -so good! For the main course, I had the cashew chicken and my son had the pineapple chicken, both were beautifully executed and delicious but I think mine was the best, packed with hand cut chunks of white meat chicken, fresh vegetables and the perfect amount of crunchy cashews. Helen the owner is from Macau and she is a beautiful person that takes great pride in her food, she explained how they make the food from scratch and use only the freshest ingredients. This little town should really appreciate having such a nice place to eat – we would love to have a great Chinese restaurant like this where we live. Please visit her, go inside and sit, there are not many Chinese restaurants you can still have this kind of experience in. Thank you Helen for all the love and hard work you put into making this beautiful food for your community, you are a treasure!

i ordered here for the first time yesterday evening, and the takeout was absolutely great. the portions were large, food was cooked well, and ready when i arrived. i purchased a sesame chicken, cashew chicken, and oriental chicken. after opening it and eating it, i was beyond happy with the meal for me and my family. i’ve looked through the reviews, particularly the bad ones, and i’m disappointed with the dishonesty in people. one of them even says that they ordered a salad? they don’t even serve salads, leaving me with no idea whether or not many of the poor reviews are true. disregarding this, the oriental cafe is a great chinese place in taylorsville to go, and i will definitely be back to eat sometime soon!

The OrientalCafe is a place where I have enjoyed many wonderful food and fellowship occasions. As far as I am concerned there is no place as wonderful! I have enjoyed the amazing food and wonderful friends I’ve made here. The atmosphere is very friendly and I love being able to take a moment to come in and take a break from my busy day to talk and relax there.

My family from New York and California came over in town for a visit and I didn’t have time to cook. Served food from the Taylorsville Oriental Cafe that really impressed them. My niece who picked up the food was appreciative of how nice and pleasant the owner is.

I called a take out order for beef and broccoli. I ordered a large lunch order and it was over $13. When I picked up I was not greeted just gave my name she gave me total. No hey, how are you? How’s your day going? Nothing it was all about paying cash and how things have went up. When I opened my box it was mostly broccoli and about 10 pieces of meat. Didn’t know I’d be paying $13 bucks for broccoli….so slightly disappointing

I don’t know what the bad reviews are about. Our food was hot, fresh, & really good. Andrew had twice-cooked pork & I had the sesame chicken. We also split an egg roll & crispy wontons. Each dish was freshly prepared & piping hot. The pork dish was the best twice cooked pork I’ve had around here & the chicken was crispy. I’ll definitely be eating from here again!

Absolutely the worst Chinese food I have ever tasted. It is so bad I cannot even eat it. The chicken is tough and nothing is cooked.

This is an amazing restaurant! The food is always as ordered and always good! The owner is such a kind and caring person. I read another review that called the owner racist. I assure you the owner is the furthest thing from a racist.

I called in an order of fried wontons and a large shrimp fried rice and two large shrimp sauces. When I picked it up they said my total was $27 which I thought sounded high but it was a Saturday night and they were busy and I had a few cars behind me so I didn’t question it because I didn’t want to cause any headache during dinner rush so when I got home I looked the menu up again and seen that they wontons are $5.25 and the shrimp fried rice was $8.75 which totals $14. So I guess I paid $10 for the two large shrimp sauces which were dipping cup sizes. That’s the only thing I can think of. The food was good but when I asked for shrimp sauce I did not realize I would be paying $10 for two 2” tall dipping cups of sauce! So beware that they charge gold prices for shrimp sauce. Next time I’ll go next door to food lion and buy a whole bottle for $4 and a lot more sauce for over half the price they charge.
