This is a fascinating restaurant: built out of old train cars – one in which President and Eleanor Roosevelt slept in! As might be expected, the resulting layout is awkward and labyrinthian. Tucked away in various places are the jewels of the joint: a series of karaoke rooms – looks like they’re newer than the rest of the place/decor, and the sound system in them is impressive. The bank of available songs leans heavily in the Asian-languages direction (Japanese, Chinese, and Korean, as far as I could tell), and only a very modest collection of English-language songs (which was disappointing for me, hoping for a good book of options for me and my English-speaking friends). Lunch dishes were lackluster in taste. Those offered at dinner time tasted somewhat better, but not something to go out of one’s way for. The prices, however, were surprisingly steep, both on the menu and at the bar. I don’t want to say the prices were double what it felt they should have been, but it was close. The wait staff were kind and sincere, but not very present or attentive either of the times we went in the past six months (end of 2025, beginning of 2026). This says nothing of the bar situation – which I only saw in passing. The bar looks dive-y but clearly has its loyal patrons. They boasted an impressive live music lineup for such a small, out of the way place. I’ll probably explore that aspect more, to be honest. Overall, I had hoped for and expected more, but it isn’t a bad place. If you’re into Asian-language karaoke, this place would be tops!

It may not be authentic Chinese food, but it’s still surprisingly good! The karaoke setup is also pretty impressive, with real music videos and good sound quality. All within a former presidential rail car – truly a hidden gem of Seattle.

Don’t pay attention to the bad reviews, they are old/outdated. This place is amazing – great atmosphere, especially for live music fans. Great service! Food looks delicious, although I didn’t get to try it. Very fun time, great place to escape the daily grind. Loved every minute!

Really cool place that you definitely can’t see from outside. They have several karaoke rooms that is great for group party. It is outdated but have pretty good range songs in their system for you to pick, from English, Chinese, Taiwanese, to Korean and Japanese….. Also come with those disco lighting that all kids enjoyed.

This place is fun because it’s a bunch of old train cars smooshed together. When I say old though, I mean old, tired, and dilapidated. I was a little worried how the food would be. It was fine but I probably won’t remember this place for the food. Except the BBQ pork was authentic and yummy. Our server was funny, delightful and full of personality! Which was good since the drinks my friends ordered came halfway through the meal. It’s a place to go if you want an experience.

Fun atmosphere, good food, great service. The dinner special for 2 is actually affordable! Their hot n sour soup was delish. I wish my entre came with a little bit of rice. Environment is really cool when there’s shows. Ive yet to try the karaoke but its on the list.

Went there again after a long time. We love the ambiance and the food is actually quite tasty. But beware, the rice is insanely overpriced. We inquired if the dishes come with rice and were then asked if we’d like to order white rice. We thought it was part of the dinner. We got a small bowl full and on the bill we could not believe when we saw that we were charged $8. I checked on the menu and it did say $3.50 per person. Even for two that does not add up to $8. And $8 for a tiny bowl is just way too much. We asked the waitress (who was very nice) if that could be correct and she said yes.
Had to take a star off the overall review.

Went for a friend’s karaoke birthday party. Karaoke set up was a bit glitchy: YouTube app option often did not load the videos, froze, or had poor internet connection, the Karaoke app itself didn’t have a lot of modern songs and was difficult to find English songs. For the karaoke rooms, each person has to spend at least $25+ so it was about $60 per person for the 2 hours we were there.
Food: It was pretty good though may not be authentic Chinese food. Decently priced too. Drinks are a bit expensive and not the usual cocktail size portions. Service was ok, there isn’t a call button in the room and if they’re busy it’s hard for staff to come in to check on the room for more orders so it’s easier to order up front or at the bar.
Parking: Plenty of parking spaces in the lot around the building and it is free.

The environment of the restaurant is a unique blend of Asian-Western themes in an old passenger train cart. When we arrived here, the first thing I noticed was how large and long the area is inside! It can be quite easy to get lost when looking for the restroom and finding your way back to the entrance, but it’s all worth it. The food portions were way larger than expected, and at a low price. It tasted all right, for the cost.
The staff here were kind, and serviced us in a timely manner. There’s also a mini-bar, a few slot machines and private party rooms to host. I recommend trying Orient Express whenever you are in the Seattle area looking for Chinese food.

Great food, the portions are BIG. I love it, and for the cost it’s reasonable.
Because of the nature of the setting (authentic train carts) it’s preserved and it has an old vibe but well kept.
I recommend as a tourist stop.
