Our server Francisco was great. He was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and was overall professional. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same about the Hostess. She looked like she didn’t want to be there and, she looked annoyed at us when we walked-in.
The food was good overall. The only downside was the tiramisu. The chocolate cake layers were too dense and we couldn’t really taste any coffee flavor. It may be too “modernized” to be called a tiramisu. We did like the complimentary pineapple as a palate cleanser. It was a nice touch to finish the meal.
It was a good experience overall and would come back again.
Our server was attentive and consistently checked on us to make sure everything was okay without being intrusive. After we finished eating, we stayed a bit longer to chat, and he never made us feel rushed.
As a nice surprise, he even brought us some fresh pineapple as dessert, which was a thoughtful and refreshing touch.
Overall, great food and great service — we’ll definitely be back!
For Valentine’s Day, they were offering only a set menu (over $90 per person), so there were no other options available. Given the price and the occasion, we expected something memorable. Instead, the food was very underwhelming. The flavors lacked depth, and the portions were shockingly small. The appetizers were tiny, the mains were extremely small, and the sides were almost nonexistent. Even sharing our mains, we still left feeling hungry.
Because the menu was pre-set and clearly pre-prepared, the turnaround was extremely fast. We were completely done with our dinner in about an hour, which made the whole experience feel rushed. It honestly felt like they were trying to turn tables as quickly as possible, and that made the evening uncomfortable rather than romantic.
Dessert included a panettone tiramisu, which was good, but the portion was very small. It was served with a plain slice of pineapple on the side, which felt random and not particularly elegant for a Valentine’s Day menu at this price point.
We were also seated at a very tight table next to a large column and close to the kitchen. The space felt cramped and claustrophobic. On top of that, there was an extremely loud Uber Eats notification going off every 30 seconds to a minute throughout the entire evening. We politely asked if the volume could be lowered and were told it wasn’t possible. It completely disrupted what should have been a romantic atmosphere.
They also automatically charged a 20% gratuity for a large table. While we understand automatic gratuity on busy holidays like Valentine’s Day, 20% felt excessive, especially considering the service was just standard.
The decoration of the restaurant was beautiful, that was honestly the only highlight of the night. After taxes, gratuity and drinks, we spent a significant amount of money (over $350+) and left feeling completely ripped off. Sadly, we won’t be returning.
The coffee options were limited, but the mimosa was decent. I chose the only sweet items on the menu: the tiramisu French toast and the lemon cake. Unfortunately, both were quite dry. The lemon cake was particularly dry and looked old. The cake tasted like cardboard, and the lemon cream they had was good with the berry sauce, but it wasn’t enough to make up for the dryness. The tiramisu French toast was slightly better, with the berries on top adding a nice touch. I wish there had been more sauce on both dishes.
Despite the disappointing food, the atmosphere and staff were very nice and friendly. Our server was calm, polite, and provided excellent service.
Overall, I wouldn’t visit again, but it’s worth trying once.
After that great first visit, I returned another time with friends and felt the quality declined a bit. But because I was still hopeful that was one time thing, I chose to come back again for Valentine’s Day, expecting the same level of quality like the first time, for a special occasion.
Unfortunately, this Valentine’s Day experience was incredibly disappointing.
We had a fixed menu, which at $90+ per person sounded promising based on the options listed. However, the experience did not live up to expectations. The food noticeably lacked flavour, and the overall quality truly had downgraded despite the pricing remaining just as high.
The main entrée was particularly underwhelming. Typically, a main course comes well balanced with sides, but mine arrived with vegetables that didn’t blend together and an excessive amount of oil on the fish and plate. It felt poorly thought out and unbalanced. As for dessert, we were expecting a family style portion to share, but the tiramisu portion was barely enough. For a fixed menu at this price point, especially for Valentine’s Day, the portions and execution simply did not justify the cost.
To make matters worse, we were charged a large party fee even though there were only two of us. That was extremely disappointing and felt unreasonable.
Additionally, we were seated right beside the station where staff retrieve cutlery. This lack of attention to detail set the tone early on. The waitresses and staff, who were lovely and friendly, had to frequently access the area, often bumping into my chair and forcing me to squeeze closer to the table. It disrupted the evening and took away from what should have been a comfortable and intimate dinner.
The space itself is beautiful, and the staff were kind and professional. However, when you are charging premium prices for a special occasion, the overall dining experience, from food quality and portion sizes to seating arrangements and additional fees, needs to reflect that. Sadly, this time it did not.
I truly hope they refocus on quality and thoughtful execution rather than raising prices for special occasions without delivering the value to match.
The service was great as well. I’d definitely recommend coming here for brunch, and I’d love to return to try their lunch or supper menu sometime!
We found service here to be a bit slow, despite it being rather quiet in the restaurant the brunch menu was decent, the food is OK. This is one of those Instagram famous restaurants because you can’t argue that the inside is beautiful, so your brunch is short to be aesthetic. For what you pay, there are other spots within a 10 minute walk that will give you a better overall experience.
Nothing bad to say but it doesn’t stand out.
I had the lamb shank with peppers on the side. Others had pizzas. Food very good but shy of excellent. Some low flavour notes on pizzas made up for with high spice over the top. Lamb shanks ordered medium rare were rare.
Design is perfect – you could be dressed to the nines or casual and feel at home.
