I stopped by at this place a couple of weeks ago to see my friends for lunch. The set up was great and I definitely planned to try their food. Fast forward to 20 May 2023 and I revisited this spot with my wife. Overall, customer service was great but the food was just average. We had fried goat meat and puff puff as appetizers and it wasn’t up to part. Even, my son said that the puff puff tasted like funnel cakes. This is someone who knows the real deal. My wife requested plantain fufu with okra soup and it was regular yam fufu that was delivered and the chef insisted it was plantain fufu. My goat pepper soup was basically like watery stew with lots of pepper. If you are Nigerian or Cameroonian and savoring African dish, this is not the spot for you but I’m sure their dishes are from other other African countries. Again, this review is from a good place so please own it and don’t come around being defensive. By the way, we got a fresh batch of puff puff to go because it was evident that our initial order did not make the cut. OVERALL, CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS GREAT BUT THE MEALS WERE JUST AVERAGE.

We’ve been waiting on this location to open and trust me it was worth the wait! The restaurant is also a after hours spot so we got to listen to some great music while dining on some amazing food! We ordered to plates of Grilled fish and jolloff rice with a order of plantains. Everything was so good that we cleared our plates! The customer service was good and made us feel at home. We’ll definitely be back for the food and we look forward to seeing what the “After Hours” has to offer. Thank you for a great lunch!

Favorite selection:
The Chicken Stew
(2nd time going) I ordered egusi with goat and eba, chicken stew with eba, a drink, a meat pie, and pof pof.
Total meal cost: $60.40
The egusi had a nice flavor, but I wish there was more goat meat instead of the large pieces of cartilage. I enjoyed the meat pie, tho I would’ve liked it if there was more filling. The Pof pof was good, and the chicken stew was delicious, no complaints there (reminded me of the chicken stew my ecuadorian mom makes). I think next time, I’ll order fufu instead of eba and get the egusi with chicken instead of goat. Overall, I would recommend .

06/19/2023 My family wanted to try some African cuisine. This was our first time trying Oreofe African Restaurant and it will be our LAST. Half of our food wasn’t even edible. The meat pies had no meat. Hopefully, I can attach my photos.

We drove an hour to try authentic African food. The food was amazing and the service was awesome. Thank you to the gentlemen who walked us through the menu and made our visit a memorable one. They serve very big portions.

It was not the best, I feel like I was given food that had sat out for a while. The fufu was hard and grainy, tasted spoiled. I had ordered the beef ogbono and the beef egusi. Both were really sour and tasted pretty bad. I really wanted to enjoy the food and even did my research beforehand, so I am kinda sad about the experience.
Edit: I appreciate the business and owner responding, however, not only did you regard my review as an insult rather than constructive criticism, but you openly admitted that your restaurant got my order wrong as I had explicitly ordered fufu and not eba.

My son and I wanted to try fu fu and this place definitely didn’t disappoint . The host was very helpful in helping us decide for first timers . The flavors and portions was absolutely wonderful , we had a lot left over for later . My son said this is one of his favorite and he’d definitely recommend eating here again and I agree .

This may be long but worth the read!!! My wife has been hounding me about Fufu since she saw it on Facebook feed and since then it comes up all the time. We found it right here in Killeen… So as we walked in instantly welcomed then the lady at the front cashier explained everything to our liking and comfort since we are new. The service is excellent! Now don’t get me wrong we were very nervous spending money on something and not liking it. But she had to try it. The first dish looking like any food you can’t really say looks were unpleasant just different. Smells of spices and she started to get a little scared but most people do that with Indian food because of the (Curry). As she took the first bite of the soup she smiled and said this is delicious then as she grabbed the Fufu she smiled bigger because she knew it was going to be better. All I Hurd was try this as she shoved it in my mouth. It was good. But as I opened mine I could smell everything tomato and spices it really brought up a lot of childhood flavors surprisingly. As for the Fufu it goes so well with the beef stew and I can not wait to go back to try the goat. If you have not gone to try fufu with a dish it is a must. Super delicious!!! A must try in Killeen Tx
Assorted meat stew and Egusi with fufu.

My wife and I were really excited to try this restaurant. An employee showed us where the restaurant was (there’s a store that shares the same entrance), gave us menus and let us pick between bar tables and lounge seating. She told us to let her know when we were ready to order then got on her phone.
We leafed through the menu (page of pictures and five other pages of text) and didn’t understand what the meals were. The employee stayed on her phone for about 10 minutes. We were hoping she’d ask if we needed help, recommend something, etc but nothing. We got up and left. Wish we could have tried the food, especially after seeing the other reviews.

Worst meal ever arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Hard earned Money wasted, just like that.
Beans was watery, the ogbono looked solid and not tasty at all. Amala (solid) was not good at all. Plantain was soaked in oil. Stew looked like a tomato stew( found tomato and onion skin inside)
Rice was hard like it was microwaved for a very long time.
I doubt the owner/cook are even Nigerian. This is a Caribbean restaurant.
Pls stop deceiving people! This restaurant is not owned by a Nigerian.
Pls don’t forget Change your cook/chef (Hire a Nigerian cook as a chef/cook for Gods sake)
Will def not return. ✌
You’re welcome
Update – Hi business owner! if you claim you are really from Lagos,Nigeria, you should come out and prove your identity to us. I have read a lot of reviews here from your business and I was expecting a very unprofessional response from you madam/sir owner. You’re not a true representation of the culture and the food you sell and to all that are still going to patronize your business after reading all the reviews should be ready to face whatever is coming to them. I have said my piece of mind. I hope you will hire a real Nigerian cook to help your business thrive and stop arguing/fight with customers that leaves a honest review on your business page. People are spending their hard earned money for God sakes. The food is really bad Period!
