We also liked the salmon carpaccio, yellowtail jalapeño, and the rolls — especially the Kobe beef roll and sunset roll. Sake clams and yakitori were solid too. They even gave the birthday ice cream with a sparkler which was cute.
Good quality for the price, and they often have free delivery or pickup discount. Nice casual spot for small celebrations or date night.
Great little sushi spot in Arcadia. The seafood was very fresh, especially the live sweet shrimp and sashimi platter. Portions were generous and everything tasted clean and well prepared. We also liked the yakitori and Kobe beef dishes. For the quality of ingredients, the price is very fair. Would happily come back again.
Standouts were the live Pacific lobster, oysters with uni & ikura, and the toro & uni bowl — rich, clean flavors and very well balanced. The deluxe mix sashimi came with generous cuts, and both the Chilean sea bass and halibut carpaccio were excellent. We also enjoyed the Mexican Roll and Sunset Roll, flavorful without being overloaded with sauce.
They also offer an online order special (Tue–Sun, 11:30am–2pm & 5:30–9pm) with 10% off pickup and free delivery, which is a nice bonus.
Overall, a reliable spot for quality sushi and seafood. Definitely a place I’d come back to!
The space is cozy, reservations are easy, and pricing feels fair for the quality. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxed but high-quality sushi night.
Opus Sushi is a well-regarded Japanese restaurant in Arcadia, CA!! A true gem in the San Gabriel Valley!! They deliver exceptional quality and beautifully presented sushi and sashimi.
If you’re a uni lover, this place is a must! They specialize in sea urchin and offer a wide variety of dishes like a Toro & Uni Bowl, Uni Pasta,
yakitori and Kobe beef tongue.
The Cherry Stone oysters has radish, green onion and ponzu sauce. The uni + ikura oysters are creamy, briny with that perfect pop! The Halibut Carpaccio is delicate and clean. The Toro Uni Bowl is a make-your-own hand rolls, which is creamy and rich.
The live Pacific lobster sashimi is incredibly fresh and sweet. The deluxe mix sashimi came with pristine cuts and the Chilean sea bass is perfectly charred and tender. The Mexican Roll and Sunset Roll are delicious.
From the first bite to the last… absolutely unforgettable.
The sashimi itself? Absolutely incredible. Every piece was so fresh it practically melted in my mouth especially their uni and lobster. Their hot dishes are good as well. I also tried a few of their signature rolls, and they were full of flavor without being over-sauced like some other places.
Drinks were great too — the cocktails were refreshing and creative.
Overall, Opus Sushi is a total gem. It’s rare to find a place that nails both the food and the experience. I’ll definitely be back soon — highly recommend!
Came back to Opus Sushi tonight at 7pm with friends for a proper Japanese feast—and it’s just as amazing as I remembered from my first visit five years ago.
