Used to enjoy comming here with family as was a nice family restaurant with nice food at a reasonable price. The place has changed now though as the service and quality of the food has drastically decreased. Not actually pleasant to come to as a family anymore

Thank you so much Oppiplaas, and especially our server Summer for an amazing experience on our first date in over 7 years. We made a booking and we’re seated at our reserved seat, after receiving our drinks and food a few customers seated near us got very exited, and happy aswel as loud (we did not take of fence) but our wonderful Summer came to offer us a change of seats so we could enjoy each other’s company in peace. Summer was so attentive and kept on checking up on us to make sure we were enjoying our evening. She is amazing, and we cannot thank her enough for how amazing our evening turned out. Great job Summer, we appreciate you.

We were celebrating my daughters birthday as well as valentine , we were about 23 in total and had only one waiter ,a chubby,short , beautiful friendly lady named Tsetsi ( not sure if I am alright). We were doubtful of one waiter as we had planned to drink ,relax and enjoy but she proved us all wrong : she gave a very good service ,our kids enjoyed making pizza and the play area is fantastic. The service was awesome , the 2 managers were very helpful and always checking on us , our waitress was always there , the food amazing , the quick service topped it all . We will definitely come again .Keep it up Oppiplaas .

A great letdown. I used to love this place but alas everything is slipping.
Management assured us of Guinness being available, it wasn’t and then took two hours to get gas and blah blah long stories. First disappointment.
Food was below average.
Orders weren’t correct.
They tell you the have Tabasco and bring you some knockoff coastal red sauce.
Basically a trap, you call, they say the do and when you arrive the long list of stories begins.
For such a beautiful venue, situated so well it is a total disappointment

Oppiplaas has been my go-to breakfast place for a while now and I just can’t get enough… The Kaaiings are to die for! I always make sure they are included in my breakfast. We have had touch and go moments with waiters where we had great waiters with great service and then waiters arguing on who is responsible for our table and then taking long with orders – This is my only reason for not giving a 5. But other than thay would still go back, Great food, Great area, Great prices and a nice play area for the kids!

Was quite disappointed that since we were last there the waitress not sure if she was a trainee or not. Did not introduce herself. We sat near the playground. She was operating at the top then at the bottom. A simple breakfast found her lost as to who ordered what and the items on the plates were wrong. The place is always full. So service should be excellent. I don’t wont to talk the place bad but there is definitely time for improvement. Cold breakfast is not nice and service time was very near to a hour on simple order. We all had a great loss and one just would like to relax and not worry about sending food back. I would normally send it back but not this time just did not have the energy. Maybe it was us or the waitress or the sjef but there could a querry somewhere. Hope this will be considered as positive critic. All the best for the new year. Andrew

Sorry I have to change my reviews after today 6 December 2025 come back and left with too disappointed my scrambled egg cold and smell my bread burn toast and funny my husband bread is already butter and upside down as u can see by picture normally our bread toast only and we choose to put butter or jam by ourself but this time they already put …and service are to slow…we started eating our tomatoes slice while waiting for fried pork and pap in the cup the waitress said not included and my husband mention our order she apologized and my husband almost finished eat then arrived…. anyway the pap also only few pieces inside oh what experience !!!!we will not recommended and will not comeback!!

The last couple of times i habe been there the service has not been great. Very slow especially when tou sot in the front section of the restaurant. At the back the servoce is better. Dont even get me started on ordering at the bar itself. I had to walk over to the one corner where the Bar men were all standing just to try amd get their attention. Amd the bar was not that busy they just did not care they just loked at me and continued on till.i went roght up to them had to do that almost every time. A year ago the serivce was much better not sure wats going on there. Hope it improves. Cause inactually enjoynthe pace. Nice vibe nice music they just need to work on there service and some of the waiters.have quite an attitude.

The waiter was a bit slow in the beginning but she did mention later in the serving that she was new so we understood why she was very slow.
The food is absolutely horrible,gave me chicken stripe that looked like it had been fried in old oil,the chips were hard and disgusting,sent it back and it looks like they sent the same chips back.
This place could be so amazing if there food was,I feel there is no Standards in there kitchen and this place has such a lekker vibe and could do even better for the people in the area.
Just fix your kitchen and menu and this could be a 5 out of 5 restaurant
