I love this place! It’s small, the folks are super nice, and theres cat decor everywhere. It’s fantastic. We had the sushi party boat for 2 and split it with 3 people, it was more than enough for us and super delicious! I’ll absolutely be back.

One of the best sushi spots in town. True hole in the wall in Allston/brighton. The owner is the sweetest man, the sushi is always FRESH and delicious. And the miso soup!?? Perfect. I always come here when I need some sushi. Great price for the incredible quality. Would recommend over and over again.

Really great service! We got miso soup right away and even got a soda on the house. The sushi was fresh and delicious – I will be coming back!

Oppa Sushi in the Boston neighborhood of Allston is a cozy little below-street-level place for excellent Japanese cuisine, and, fresh sushi and sashimi. Descending the stairway entrance I immediately felt welcomed walking into the tiny space. The staff and owner were very friendly, helpful, and attentive throughout my visit. Before even taking your drink order they bring you a complimentary bowl of miso soup. For the main, I went with the amply large bowl of Spicy Pork Bulgogi; a lot of flavors coming at you here with just the right spice for my taste. And because I am a sucker for anything mango, I also had the Frenchkiss Maki roll – m’wah! But while the food and service are excellent, and the room is nicely decorated, there is also quite a bit of clutter here and the bathroom could use some care. I wouldn’t let that hold me back though and it was certainly well worth the visit. Very much recommended.

A literally hidden gem on the busy Harvard Street. Nestled in the basement level of a red building, this seemingly suspicious looking place is actually packed with a friendly environment, good food, and good service. I came in with low expectations and was very much surprised.

From my photos, I ordered the patriot roll, black dragon roll, tornado maki, and fried softshell crab. It all tasted delicious. VERY delicious. The sauces that came with the special sushi rolls are supreme and they were packed with ingredients. Pricing was as expected and for some strange reason their canned Coca-Cola tasted really good too.

Only caveat is that this restaurant only accepts cash but they have an ATM.

One of my favorite sushi places in the Allston area. It’s almost underground and they’ve recently expanded so it’s not tight and uncomfortable. Staff is always very friendly and it’s a great place to go as a group. You can try multiple rolls
Without breaking the bank. Also, if you do go alone the rolls are reasonably priced as well.

I’ve tried most of their menu and they never disappoint. Checkout the photos below and ask for the flaming sushi, it’s great for show!

Fresh fish and hot sake = great time and happy bellies

Sushi is great, prices are better, and the owners are the sweetest hosts! Just picked up an order today and felt like the prodigal son returning home the way the owners greeted me with smiles and joy. Me and my girlfriend’s new spot for good, cheap sushi.

My friend and I came here looking for some Korean style sushi. While their menu was limited than I initially expected, we were able to find the spicy fish bowl soup which is a popular dish in Korea during the summer. The bowl came with an icy cold broth and vegetables that enhanced the refreshing aftertaste. The classic combination of thinly sliced squid and the sweet and spicy broth was nice, but the broth was too sweet for my taste. We also had the regular sushi and the scallop yaki, but both were unfortunately mediocre at best.

Without AC, the restaurant was extremely hot and humid. The servers tried their best to provide us with a table closest to a fan, but it was pointless. Humidity and temperature are also critical factors in maintaining the quality of the sushi, so it was a bit concerning. We were also hugely disappointed when we found out that some items on the menu were more expensive than what was indicated. The fish bowl soup ended up being $10 more expensive, and we didn’t realize this until we got out. Although I would love to give a higher rating for their superb service, the overall experience wasn’t worth what I paid for.

Amazing gem in Allston! That saying don’t judge a book based on its cover applies to Oppa. May not look like anything special from the outside but on the inside is a nice cute family owned business. When you dine in you get complementary miso soup. The sushi’s is fresh and the sashimi is stellar.

Pros: server was excellent, service was fast and respondent, sushi was amazing, get #23 ( torch salmon was awesome) and #15, the Celtics dish sauce was okay at best.
Decor is valid and artsy!
Misou soup was a 10/10 wow!

Cons: Place is humid but it did not ruin our experience even though it was 95 degrees
.lack of drinks, soda cans $2?!
