This place is truly a warm and welcoming refuge for families who are going through difficult times and struggling to put food on the table ❤️ ️. It offers more than just a meal — it provides comfort, dignity, and a sense of community. For those experiencing homelessness, it’s a blessing to receive a hot meal in a clean and caring environment ✨.
I was especially touched by how the community comes together to make it all happen. The Sedalia 200 School District sends volunteers every evening to lend a helping hand , and local churches and civic organizations rotate in to prepare and serve quality meals. The teamwork and compassion behind this effort are truly inspiring . It’s a beautiful example of people supporting one another and making a real difference every single day.

I don’t understand why it has to be dine in only and my husband was not allowed to bring home anything for me or my sister I don’t go in due to my health. my sister has bronchitis right now she could not go into the building but when my husband tried to go get food they told him unless we come in and eat that we were not allowed to have anything so guess once again we go hungry you guys say you’re all for helping the community but honestly how is that helping people when you turn somebody away that doesn’t wish to be around other people because of their health and anxiety issues. Plus me my sister have a restraining order on someone that goes up there daily to eat we can’t be around that person so how are we supposed to come in the building when you do dine in only

The Lunches is slop and gross, the evening meals are good but not enough to feed a grown adult. The evening shift people are great. Now only if they could get decent lunches with meat. To much rice with left over mixed with it.

Weekday lunch run by Open Door, fantastic. Wonderful food and very yummy. Nice people.
Weekday dinner is run by different church groups, well, they suck. And a lot of times they don’t show up to cook dinner. They also complain about having to serve dinner for more than 20 or 30 people. Rude people.

My husband and I are so thankful for the meals that are provided here. We are a couple on a very fixed income with very little left after we pay bills to buy food. Between the local food pantry and the Community Cafe my husband and I have been well provided for and do not go hungry. May The Most High continue to bless all the volunteers and ppl who donate their money, food, time, and energy to feed and care for the needs of the poor. Thank you so much for everything you do!

Great place, if you are hungry and have nothing to eat. This place is serves free meals for the less fortunate. They work hard and efficiently to make sure that you are fed at least one good, hot meal a day. Between here and the Open Door Pantry there is no need to go hungry.
