Snap decision to stop, so happy we did. Love the atmosphere, as well as the friendly & inviting staff. The Maple Bourbon Old Fashioned Sweet is made with my favorite Wisconsin Blue Ash Farm Maple Bourbon, tasty! The Cheeseheads starter are puffy little pillows of gooeyness, they just melt in your mouth! The Burgers… we enjoyed the “You Betcha” & “Wisco Smash” with fries! Everything was incredible! We’ll stop in again or just move to Barneveld!

Stopped in on my way to Dubuque. Sooooo glad I did!
The food was amazingly delicious! The place was buzzing, the atmosphere and energy inside was a sight to see.
The staff appeared eager to be there and they were all super friendly!

We all got different smash burgers…they were made from a good quality beef, tasted good…but they just weren’t smash burgers…no crust, no char and too thick…not a smash, but still good burger. The curds were great, drinks were good…service was friendly and quick. It’s a great spot to stop for dinner or to meet friends for drinks. The bloody Marys look like a fun adventure. They seem to have a nightly special burger or sandwich. The menu has a lot of appealing options.

I really wanted to give at least a 4, I had heard great things, but our food and experience was just good. We started with pretzel sticks and they were good, a bit hard and the cheese dip was a watery mess. Our food was good, my friend enjoyed her burger, my fish seemed like we were definitely getting bottomed of the barrel, small pieces and a bit undercooked I think (the center was way to rubbery & didn’t flake).

As a Wisconsinite i can say the cheese curds are on point. The bacon bloody mary was smokey and surprisingly delish. Prime rib sandwich with Dijon mustard tender and falling apart with savory goodness. The Ope burger…it is a signature burger named after the place for a reason. It did NOT disappoint. Soft pretzel bun, caramelized onions, juicy burger sauce on point. Would order it all again.

The cod dinner was fantastic, really liked the sweet potato waffle fries!! The bacon cheeseburger came a little more cooked then I asked for, and the bun was very soggy from all the grease. Cheese curds were amazing tho!!!

This is less a review than it is a call to action. I went tonight heart set on getting my usual, the always good and reliable hangover burger. Instead I went with the special, the prime rib breakfast skillet. So here goes, go to Ope and enjoy the atmosphere, fast no none-sense service and make the prime rib breakfast a permanent part of the menu. Please.

Very good food. Friendly service. The smash burger and pub chips were awesome. The Horseshoe was excellent also. At least that is what my wife said. She wouldn’t let me try any. I loved the bloody Mary.

Well another road trip to this place that came up in my searching that bragged great food throughout it’s reviews. So, 1 hour and 38 minutes later we arrived. In this town of somewhere between 1000 and 1500 population. SO, we walk in, nice clean fresh atmosphere, got seated within about 2 minutes. We generally do burgers a first time all around same direct comparisons and we did, WOW, the sweet potato waffle fries are to die for. We actually used the beer cheese dip to dip a few lol. Seriously have to try, a must! A reviewer was so correct in instantly catching the flavor of the beef, again five star. We will continue making this trip. FIVE STAR food, waitress so very pleasant, a MUST place to eat!!!

We ordered burgers “medium rare”. Both of our burgers came “well done”, dry and brown. Waitress was very nice and confirmed our burgers did not look “medium rare”. The manager came a few minutes later and was quite rude. A replacement came in another 7-10 minutes later and it was medium at best, again not “medium rare”. Sweet potato fries were great. Fries – not worth it. Pizza is to be avoided. Overall service was very slow.
