I would give it about a 3 the meat was on point especially the jerk chicken tips and smother pork chops rice and gravy, the sides were just ok for my liking.

Went in today for the first time. Ordered baked chicken and pot roast dinners w/ greens, mac & cheese, sweet and mashed potatoes . Greens was good and salty. Mac & Cheese, sweet potatoes and mash potatoes were all good. The pot roast was very salty and did not taste like beef at all. I kept looking at it to make sure it was beef. No flavor. Just salty. I was very disappointed. Chicken looked good. I haven’t tasted yet. Was turned off by the pot roast. Taste buds needed a break.

I’ve been wanting to go to the sit-down location on 83rd, but their parking lot is always full, and on street parking is tough in the nearby residential area. I tried to go to the sit-down location on a Sunday months ago and the line was sooo long and went I got to order they were out of what I really wanted which was short ribs. I finally decided to try the take-out location this past Saturday and found out they only have short ribs in Sunday. I came mid afternoon and they weren’t very busy and I got my food within maybe 10-15min after ordering. I got 3 plates – pot roast, oxtails, and Hennessey wing. The beef was tender and flavorful but a little on the salty side. The wings were good and flavorful with a spicy kick that caught me off guard but wasn’t overpowering. My asparagus and broccoli were overcooked, and the greens again were well seasoned but on the salty side. The best things were the yams(nice flavor, not overly sweet), mac and cheese, the cornbread(I think it had honey on it, and was sooooo good) and Obama tea. Growing up with a dad with high blood pressure, I learned to both cook, and enjoy food with good flavor and less salt, so the salt may have been a little heavy FOR ME and my family but maybe not for others… would I go back and try something else? Probably, but I can’t have the lobster due to allergies and I’m assuming the short ribs will be similar to the other beef as far as seasoning, so maybe I’ll try the honey BBQ wings with Mac and yams and that delicious corn bread(maybe get some extra of that ) and some more of that Obama Tea!! Maybe one day I’ll get to the sit-down location and see if anything else is worth trying but for now, I’ve gotten over the hype. It’s worth waiting 15min for take out but not driving around to find parking for… at least not yet.

This place will have you licking other peoples fingers. Finger licking Good. You won’t be disappointed. I ordered the smothered ox tails and green beans/yams Great Vibe and Environment. Wonderful music and a waitress that was on point with the menu. She was very professional. I’m definitely going back. Traveled from Ohio to try this restaurant

I honestly would of put no stars . I ordered 3 soul rolls last night which comes with ( sweet potatoes , Mac and cheese , and greens ) instead I received jerk chicken rolls or chicken and greens idk what this is. Plus it was burnt and they had an emergency close last night because they were low staff . I threw the food away and came back the next to get another order because it was messed up. They told me I had to bring the food back from last night in order for them to basically fix my order . So you want me to bring back food I have proof you messed up keep it over night and bring it back ? That doesn’t make sense . YOU ARE WRONG ! period point blank it’s not right . I won’t be coming back cus that don’t make no sense ! No accountability for messing up my order , no compensation or nothing that’s not how you run business.
