We recently watched the movie fried green tomatoes and my fiancé surprised me by taking me to this place! This place was the cutest spot! The staff were exceptional people and super friendly. Don’t even get me started on the food. TO DIE FOR. You have to try the fried green tomatoes of course. They have putput golf, memorabilia, and not to mention the train that runs right by it making it feel nostalgic.. oh and also giant milkshakes. What’s not to love?

Historic building with delicious food. The servings are huge. The ice cream creations are a meal in themselves. I split the roast beef with a friend. A half sandwich was more than enough I Ended the meal with a milkshake. Park on the side of the building. If you pull in the front as shown in the picture, it is hard to get out due to the location of the historic building.

Totally not expecting how cute and eclectic this place is. And the history that is documented throughout the building is incredible. A historian could spend hours looking at everything. More than just ice cream, they have a solid dinner menu as well. You can order a generic banana split, or get one of their unique ice cream offerings and truly experience the Whistlestop. 10/10

Sandwiches, Salads and Soup were all delicious, well proportioned and reasonably priced. We didn’t try the ice cream but definitely will another time.
Service is friendly, attentive and they go the extra mile.
Atmosphere is beautiful with interesting old fashioned touches. If you’re there when a train passes by, you’ll see why it’s called Whistle Stop!

Our office got take out here for the first time and everything was excellent. I got the Nashville chicken sandwich and it was good… the Mac n cheese was amazing!! I’d probably get a side of some kind of sauce next time since I like my sandwiches saucy. The others got the French dip with cheddar instead of Swiss and the chicken salad sandwich.
