We stopped by Onoya Ramen after hiking Diamond Head–and we were *super* hungry, lol. I was craving chicken katsu curry, while my husband and daughter went for ramen.

I can confidently say this is the **best ramen I’ve had so far in the US**. I actually ended up eating more ramen than my own curry. Even though we ordered the spicy version, my 8-year-old loved it. She said it was spicy and needed water–but still kept saying how *really, really good* it was.

The chicken katsu curry was pretty good, but it tasted more Indian-inspired than Japanese to me. I could pick up hints of Indian spices and coconut, and it reminded me a lot of how curry is made in my hometown. While it was flavorful, I was expecting more traditional Japanese curry flavors with potatoes and carrots, which were missing.

Overall, a great post-hike stop with amazing ramen. We’d definitely come back–especially for the ramen!

I recently visited a fantastic ramen spot that genuinely exceeded all expectations. The food was nothing short of delicious; each bowl of ramen was a rich, flavorful experience, boasting a perfectly balanced broth and noodles cooked just right. The quality of the cuisine truly stands out, making it a must-try for any ramen enthusiast.
What makes this place even better is the value for money. The price is incredibly good when considering the generous portion sizes. You definitely get a hearty, satisfying meal without breaking the bank.
The phenomenal customer service also adds significantly to the overall positive experience. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and genuinely seemed to enjoy making sure every diner had a great visit. This high level of hospitality made me feel right at home.
Lastly, the ambiance is the perfect complement to the meal. The cozy atmosphere provides a warm, inviting setting, ideal for a casual lunch or a comforting dinner. The combination of incredible food, fair pricing, excellent service, and a cozy environment makes this restaurant a definite five-star destination that I can’t wait to return to.

Food is excellent and the vegan options are great!

Tiny friendly thought though. You guys have the potential to be one of the top spots in town. A little refresh of the walls and paint would honestly transform the vibe. Right now the interior feels a bit tired and it hides how good the place actually is. With a small facelift this place would absolutely shine

The service we had tonight was exceptional! The two men who served our tables were both very friendly, attentive, answered our questions and overall fantastic! I don’t have much Ramen experience, but my Tonkotsu Tan Tan was delicious, the Spicy Tina Crispy Rice Appetizer was unreal, and the Takoyaki were surprisingly good! My wife and the Spicy Miso and enjoyed hers as well.

This Ramen spot on Honolulu close to Waikiki is the spot to eat ramen!! It’s removed from the city life but easily walkable from Waikiki if you wanted to walk. My husband and I have a spot in Dallas called Hindodeya that we like to eat ramen at and he said that Onoya’s Ramen dominated Hindodeya! The broth is rich, creamy, and satisfies the salty savory flavor you look for in a ramen broth. The prices are extremely generous as we both ordered more protein as well as a ramen exchange for the combo. Payment is done through barcode that you receive on your receipt, it’s a fast and easy process. Definetly a spot to try, you won’t be disappointed. My husband and I ordered the tonkotsu tan tan men and the tonkotsu black rice combo.

Solid 4.5 stars! Came across this place still open at 9pm, as we craved a late soupy noodle dish for dinner after the strenuous Honolulu Marathon. I went with a lighter Shoyu base – the Shoyu shrimp wonton ramen, and sipping the soup really hit the spot, while the chicken pieces in it were more tender than expected! My two buddies got the Black Garlic oil tonkotsu & the Vegan Fire ramen, both of which they enjoyed. Service was quick and attentive. Interior felt a little humid, maybe because the AC was off; the portable AC unit on the wall actually started dripping water and splashing on our table but they let us move elsewhere.

Tucked next to a laundromat with minimal parking, this ramen joint is your classic Oahu-style spot—no frills, no fancy decor, just straight-up quality food. It’s always busy, which is usually a good sign, and in this case, definitely is.

The ramen here is one of my favorites on the island. I wouldn’t dare compare it to Japan’s ramen (because, you know, different worlds), but I will say it’s better than the Japan airport ramen I had once . My go-to order is the spicy miso ramen and takoyaki—hits every time.

I live in central Oahu, so making the trek into town means I only get to come here bi-annually, but it’s always worth it. Service is just okay (maybe a .3 deduction), but I’m rounding up because the food deserves five stars.

If you’re craving ramen, I definitely suggest trying it out. Just don’t expect ambiance—expect flavor.

They really have good customer service and a very neat place. Food were served quick too. The food were good especially the ramen but we had much better taste somewhere. The char sui mix is something different. It’s the one I enjoyed the most. Would definitely come back here again.

The food was great. Great broth. Pork belly was good. Not too thin but not thick. ~6-8mm. The kids ramen is also nice. I was lucky to find a spot in the parking. Where I was sitting I didn’t get any fan wind so I was very hot and towards the end of the meal it was border line not comfortable. My wife and kids were directly into wind so no complaint. Ceiling light shade could get some little dust cleaning.

We came for a late night dinner after Halloween. I had this on my list to try so was happy to mark it off. We had about an hour before closing and there was only another couple in there. The place is small but not too small and there were about six workers total. Parking is same as Papa Johns and a laundromat.
They have an extensive menu and what I really like is that they have vegan options. I am pescatarian but I appreciate the vegan menu. I ordered the vegan tan tan and it was absolutely delicious. It was very flavorful with lots of different textures. I wouldn’t 100% order this again. The Mr had tonkatsu spicy miso and enjoyed it. He also enjoyed the gyoza and chicken karaage.

Service was very good and attentive, but not sure if it was because we were one of the last ones there. There is a small parking lot that because we went around 9pm, had availability.
