Great Hawaiian restaurant! Their beef short ribs were delicious! I also loved the marinated coconut carrot slaw and kimchi. The ribs were beautifully marinated with a sweet glaze that was super tasty. I highly recommend checking this place out!

The food here was fantastic! The kalua pig and bulgogi with the pineapple slaw were delicious. I was completely taken by the chocolate and pineapple upside down cake, they were so moist. The people working the counter were so friendly and nice to talk to. I’ll definitely be back.

My husband and I just got takeout from this place tonight. It was horrible. I got the teriyaki chicken and it was BURNT. Shown in the photos you can see the chunks of burnt sauce that I fished out. It was inedible. The char siu was dry, the only thing edible was the carrot slaw and the macaroni salad. Almost $50 down the drain. Very disappointed since somehow this place has good reviews.

The spam musubi was the highlights of the entire experience two bites in you taste the flavor of the sauce the rice seaweed in the spam and it’s not too salty. It’s not too sweet. It gives a very umami flavor the cool pork, the kale salad. The mixed salad is a little different if you’re not used to having it this way then don’t get that but everything else was great.

This was my first time dining here and definitely not my last.
I’m beyond impressed. The food, the staff, and the atmosphere is impeccable. You can tell they’re passionate about the cuisine they serve. Even the younger staff members are engaged and attentive to ensure your dining experience is prime.
I ordered the combo plate (pig and chicken) with a side of kimchi and macaroni potato salad. It was divine. The meat was fresh, tender, and the flavors were potent.
Prices are extremely fair for the quality and quantity of food you’ll receive.
This establishment will most definitely be in my rotation for years to come!

Excellent service. I had the buttered fish. Soooo good. Very fresh, cooked with tasty butter and herbs. The spam appetizer was good as well. Had a nice sweet sauce, wrapped in seaweed. Highly recommended.

Ono Kine Grindz was amazing to work with for our wedding! Guy and David, the owners, treated us like family from the very beginning. During our tasting, they were so attentive to us and gave us a taste of practically the whole menu! My family came with us for the tasting and were so impressed, and stuffed, by the end of it! We also used them for our desserts. Amber made us three kinds of cupcakes: double chocolate, coconut, and our personal favorite guava. So many compliments from our guests about the cupcakes! For dinner, we picked the Kalua pork, teriyaki chicken, salmon, purple sticky rice, pineapple-carrot coleslaw, and stir-fried veggies. Our favorite was the salmon, but so many guests had rave review about the teriyaki chicken. We also did passable apps during happy hour which consisted of pork and veggie pot stickers, sausage skewers, and fruit skewers. The catering staff during the wedding were wonderful. One of the gals greeted us with hugs and passed along warm wishes from Guy and David. Talk about great service! We recommend Ono Kine Grindz for any of your catering needs, but especially weddings!

Cool little spot, friendly staff. Stopped in for dinner, ordered the Loco Moco. It was delicious, the egg was perfect, the gravy was delicious, especially with the Portuguese sausage in it. The purple rice was also tasty, and different. Would recommend.

Ono Kine Grindz helped make our wedding an unforgettable experience! The shoyu chicken and kalua pork were a huge hit with our guests, many of whom had never tried Hawaiian food before. And don’t even get me started on the haupia cream puffs—they were to die for! Deb and Amber were the absolute best catering crew. They came up with ideas on the fly, helped with setup and cleanup, and brought such good vibes the whole time. If you’re in Wisconsin and craving a taste of the islands, look no further than Ono Kine Grindz! Mahalo for everything!
