The only bad thing is the way the landlord allows the building and public areas to be so dirty and in disrepair. Its not this establishments fault, so don’t judge the food and service with its exterior appearance.
If the same food was served at a fancier restaurant in a nice setting with a mai tai and bar, table service and outdoor patio, it could charge 50-100% more.
Hopefully the landlord will read this and improve its property.
The service was amazing with great service.
* I was at the Ohno bbq on Santa Monica blvd & bundy on a Saturday night l am very proud of their staff of their customers service.
I’ve had Ono many times. Sometimes the chicken is good, sometimes dry and other times poorly cut/ breaded and lots of fat left on (which I usually don’t mind but sometimes it’s too much).
I think the island fire chicken might be the best thing to get here. The Katsu was my usual go to but my last order just wasn’t the standard I’m used to.
I’m only being this critical because I’ve had a lot of Hawaiian food before and never really been disappointed until I started coming here. It’s not always disappointing, and the price and portion size is worth the money, but it’s inconsistent and I feel it’s necessary to warn you!
Hopefully you get Ono on a good day!
