Lovely restaurant that was out favorite meal in Oahu. Had the Christmas Eve special for two. The server grilled the meats for us and the wagyu and marinated short ribs were my favorite. Crunchy kimchi and kimchi stew were both great. Potato pancake with truffle was crispy and filling. Shaved ice for dessert was fluffy. Great service.

I’m not a Korean BBQ expert, but I’ve eaten at a few good places before. Onkee Korean Grill was a very good experience. The quality of the beef was top notch, and the marinated beef had a nice sweetness to it. The Banchan had good flavor although I think the kimchee cabbage was a quick pickle. I was hoping for a little more variety of Banchan as well. The rice was cooked perfectly and had a nice fragrance.
The servers and service staff were very good as well. It was the 6pm dinner rush so they were all running around a little. The server apologized to me about not being able to attend to me more, but I thought he did great balancing tables.
The ambiance felt upscale but a little corporate-ish. It felt new, white, and clean which was good, but it didn’t quite feel like a mom and pop store.
Overall a really good to great experience.

If going with a group, DO NOT order the February lunch special. It is misleading.
Special says its per person, comes with pork and “includes”. “Includes” are banchan, lettuce and ssam, 1 egg souffle, kimchee, 2 stews, and rice. We ordered 3 specials but only got 1 set of the includes with “extra meat” and 3 rice. Our server did not explain to us that the includes is shared regardless of how many people order the special. The only thing you can ask for more of is the banchans.
Talked to another server about this issue and nothing was done.
They should reword their special menu to say per table and not per person because thats misinformative.

This massive restaurant is a fancy modern concept of Korean bbq. If you want to dress nice, eat high quality korean bbq, and walk out smelling like you did when you walked in, this place is for you. Though the grill is in front of you, the servers will cook and portion out your food for you. For me it takes the fun element out of korean bbq, but thats just my opinion.
The food is excellent and of the highest quality.
The cost of the meal is super high, but you get what you pay for. The question is, do you want to pay for someone else to cook your food in front of you?
Their kimchee is EXCELLENT. And the happy hour deals at the bar are outstanding. 5/5 for the happy hour!
Over all, dining room is for special occasions. Bar area is for every day meals.

Unfortunately, both the food and service here were disappointing and definitely not worth the price. The cold noodles were bland, the grilled meat was overcooked, the beef tongue was tough, and even the tenderloin lacked the proper texture. The service felt rushed, as if everyone just wanted to go home. At this price point, there are plenty of better options to choose from. Coming here for a birthday was truly disappointing — a cold restaurant with soulless food.

Onkee is one of my go-to spots for a reliable, satisfying lunch. Their lunch combos are always generous and filling — you definitely get enough food without feeling shorted.
Service is consistently quick and efficient, and the atmosphere is comfortable enough that you can actually hold a conversation without feeling rushed or drowned out by noise.
The quality of the meat really stands out — fresh, well-prepared, and noticeably better than average. Everything is cooked well and served hot.
Overall, Onkee delivers great value, solid portions, and dependable quality. It’s an easy recommendation for a casual, high-quality lunch.

New Korean BBQ in the neighborhood
Service
Outstanding! The staff was welcoming and friendly. We appreciated how everyone worked efficiently as a team to serve us during our dinner experience.
Atmosphere
Lively with good vibes.
Food
We ordered the Combo A with a side of special kimchi and grilled vegetables- we found this to be the perfect amount of food for two people. The meal included 4 sides with complementary refills. The radish was my favorite.

Recommendation to Onkee
We’d love to see non-alcoholic beers on the menu.

Nice atmosphere, if a little loud. Food was ok. Haejangguk was alright, appetizer fresh kimchi wasn’t too flavorful, appetizer cucumber water kimchi was hellllaaaa garlicky, some pieces of galbi were tender and others were tough and the marinade was a little lacking. Naengmyun seemed more “pyongyang style,” i.e. very subtle flavor. The banchan that came with the lunch sets were fine. Service-wise it was also fine, but when we flagged down someone to ask for hot tea (a second time), instead of asking if we needed anything, they said “do you need the check?” “Uh…. no? we’re still waiting for our food. Can we check on the hot tea we ordered?” The tables are nice and spread out, so if you want space and ambiance, go here. If you want some more flavorful korean food, try hangang.

Today’s server is a wonderful young man. He is awesome. We had a scary old lady server before, she was rude and inpatient for no reason-Korean-speaking customers.
The young man server made the dinner very pleasant.
Food is good as always.
We arrived early but they try their best to fit us in quickly much appreciated
