O’Neill’s Grill has been a Harrisonburg favorite for 15+ years, serving comfort food, cold brews, and plenty of local flavor. Famous for our warm Cookie Skillet, we also smoke BBQ in-house, age and cut steaks, and grill burgers like the ’Burg’s Original 50/50 Bacon Burger. Our chicken Thumbs & Toes are tossed in homemade sauces, and we offer fresh, never-frozen meals with gluten-free and vegetarian options, too. With 26 beers on tap plus local wines and cocktails, O’Neill’s is the place to gather with family and friends for great food and genuine hospitality.

Mind Set On Travel
While in Harrisonburg, VA we wanted something local vs a chain. We found that at O’Neill’s Grill. Next to a “Chain” we decided on the local Resturant. Lots of room to accommodate any size party. Staff was very helpful. We opted for the bar area which had booths and bar tops and bar seating. Lots of TV’s to see sports playing. We enjoyed the nachos and ribs with fries.

Our waiter Ryan was spectacular. My wife had the brisket sandwich and I had the 2 meats plate, ribs and pulled pork. We were given a fleet of barbecue sauces, all made in house. My bride liked the maple and I liked the BT sauce – spicy.

I’ve tried to give O’Neills a chance 3 times now… I have yet to be impressed with what they offer. I’ve only come when out with friends who wanted to come here. It’s just kinda run down a bit and there was this AWFUL smell when we walked in yesterday(Saturday). It was a mix of garbage, mildew and sweat… it was so gross. Our waitress was nice. I did not appreciate her though asking if we wanted change when we paid cash. That’s almost guilting people into tipping.. I’ve been a server. It’s “I’ll be right back with your change” not “do you need change?” I also find it very odd for a restaurant to have 3 different types of glassware. I had a couple refills and in turn, had 3 different kinds of glassware. The only decent thing was that my burger was juicy and not dry. But otherwise, I don’t patronize this place and wouldn’t waste your time either

We will definitely be back. The in-house smoked brisket is fantastic, the house made bbq sauces are delicious, fries with cheese and bacon? Yes, please! Oh, and the skillet cookie was HUGE and delicious. Our server was courteous, knowledgeable, and managed every table assigned to her with the kind of ease, grace, and confidence that only comes with YEARS of experience. The only reason I didn’t give this place 5 stars is the building. It’s shabby and in desperate need of repairs and a major face-lift. This restaurant deserves a better home.

My family absolutely LOVES Oneill’s! And everyone who knows me, knows the this is my favorite place to eat! The appetizer- bacon cheese fries is a must every time! I’ve tried several different entrees and I have never been disappointed! Also, they got the GOOD RANCH!! (As you can tell from my 3 year old literally drinking it! ) And if you ever have room for dessert, which we rarely ever do after their great portions, the cookie skillet is melt in your mouth delicious!!

Very quiet, but it was also a Monday night. Service was excellent. Chicken quesadillas were really good. Fish tacos were decent. Salmon was just slightly over cooked.

Had lunch with my wife and one of our kids here today. They had the Monte Cristo sandwich and I had the Philly Cheesesteak. The staff were attentive and very friendly. The food was spot on and the prices exceptional! This is one of those places that becomes “your go to” spot. It felt like home; no rush to get out; we were able to sit and chat… love this place!

Cool place to go for lunch. I came with a group of friends and we had a wonderful time. All of our food was delicious. They have a full bar. The restaurant is decorated very nice and has outdoor seating. Our server was friendly and attentive, easy accessibility, plenty of parking and clean restrooms.

We ordered the grilled turkey and bacon sandwich or turkey melt it’s called and it was delicious. They were very busy because of leading up to graduation weekend but our meal came rather quickly after we ordered. Highly recommend anyone go to this restaurant and prices were very reasonable.
