We have lived in Oldham county for 4 years now, and I really have no excuse as to why I haven’t tried this place yet. This diamond of a restaurant serves excellent food, wonderful prices, and the services unmatched. They noticed how much my son likes trains, and gave him one to keep him busy (parents, you understand). Honestly, I’m not sure how I picked one item on the menu to eat, it all sounded delicious. Will definitely be back!!!

So. Many. Options. The menu for this little diner is huge. And nearly everything on it sounds delicious. You can sit on the patio and might be able to reach out and touch a train passing by. Stop by if you’re close, or plan a little trip on the bike.

A GEM in the La Grange area. We went here on a whim during the Super Bowl and we were so pleasantly surprised. The service was great, the food was hot and prepared with love, and it was clean. The prices CANNOT be beat. I mean, who could compete with that piece of fish for $10ish dollars?! The hand cut fries were well worth the extra $3. They are seasoned so well and super tasty. The cornbread stuffing was unique and the sear on the turkey was nice. The mashed potatoes were creamy and flavorful (also prepared with skins — just mentioning for folks who would like to know)! We loved the decor and the background music was just the right volume so we could talk easily. It’s so charming in this restaurant and with how huge their offerings are (in variety and size), I am positive we will be back to try more dishes. Thanks for a wonderful time!

We went for lunch and the food and service was excellent! Catie took great care of us. We had the half haute brown and the cod special. We enjoyed both. The bacon pie and bread pudding were so tasty too. We’ll be back.

I visited this place on Good Friday and had the taste for fish. I ordered the Whitefish Po Boy with fries. It was good and I enjoyed it and there was some kind of sauce on it that was tasty BUT my friend ordered the Hot Brown and I tasted it and could hardly get enough of it. It was delicious, absolutely delicious!. I have only had the dish once before and it was good, this Hot Brown was great!. The Mornay sauce was really good and I can’t say enough about this dish. The Hot Brown comes in a half size and whole size on the menu. The whole portion is what my friend ordered and it was a huge portion size and could easily have fed two people and because I kept taking more and more bites, it kinda did. I can’t wait to go back and get the Hot Brown for myself . If I had to rate it on a scale it’s a 10. Yummy! If you like Hot Browns go to this place. It’s worth the drive if you live in Louisville. The Hot Brown will not disappoint! I Will definitely go back . The server, Monica was friendly and patient with me. I had the taste for fish but after looking at the menu I was so indecisive since they have a wide selection of entrees and she encouraged me to take my time and answered all my questions about the various entrees.

I was pretty excited about the menu. The liver appetizer was large. More like a meal and a bit overdone. The potato cupcakes were good. The burger was ok but a bit dry. The cobb salad looked good. The atmosphere is great for families and kids. The price was moderate.

Food was good. A little on the heavier side but that could just be due to what we ordered. Very Kentucky feeling menu which is cool. The servers were very nice but it seemed like a busy time so service was a bit slower than I would like but wasn’t a big deal overall. Atmosphere is very homely. Overall, I liked it and I will probably be returning.

Great local main Street Diner with as advertised Comfort Foods served. The menu offers a great variety. Try the fried green tomatoes. The Haught Brown was excellent. The Bacon pie was interestingly good and a sweet finish. Our server kept up and made our meal time memorable. The restaurant was super clean and the restrooms were spotless. Less than a mile from the interstate it was a great find for our travel stop on a Sunday mid day break.
