A heads up about parking; very small parking lot for this plaza and it was packed during lunch time. Street parking is available, but not that many spaces available as well due to neighboring apartments.

The restaurant was nicely decorated and clean. However, the cleaning spray they used to clean after each table was too strong. It’s not a nice smell during eating while they clean the table next to us. Servers were good; attentive and polite.

Unfortunately, the food was just ok. I suppose it can be considered one of the closer to authentic Asian food for San Diego; still isn’t as good as restaurants at OC and LA. Couple of the dishes came with additional sauces that are unusual for me, but I suppose that’s what the local customers liked, and a restaurant has to adopt to local flavors. One good thing is they offered black vinegar, which is a must for authentic dumplings. Prices were on the high side for some dishes; 2 people for lunch cost us $64 before tipping for 2 appetizers, 1 dim sum dish, 2 dumplings dishes, and 1 drink.

We ordered:
Appetizer:
Popcorn chicken $9.99 which was tasty, but came with this sweet savory kind of Thai sort of sauce which is unusual for me.
House special onion pancake $7.99 (aka scallion or green onion pancake) which was ok. It was a small piece of pancake cut into 4 quarters then halved of each quarter. Flavor was food but it was a bit undercooked at certain parts of the pancake.

Dim sum: Steamed shrimp dumplings $7.50 for 3 fair sized dumplings had lots of shrimp with good flavor.

Pork xiao long bao $12.99 for 8 baos were ok. Meat was too tough for xiao long bao, and the dough was a bit tough and chewy as well on the top, especially when the baos gets cooler during eating.

Pork & shrimp pan-fried dumplings $14.99 for 8 dumplings was ok. Again, meat was a bit tough for dumplings, but better than xiao long bao. However, they included this slightly spicy sesame sauce on the side which was unusual for me.

Drink: Sunrise Galexy Tea $5.75 has good jasmine tea flavor with a little tang from the passion fruit, and not overly sweet which is excellent for me.

Overall, it’s not a bad experience; however, certain dishes are rather disappointing.

Clean modern place, high ceilings, spacious. Excellent food. We got more than 10 items to test the new place. Several were variations on the same dumpling theme, but all were excellent. So much food we had to invite a couple more people to help us eat. Parking is very limited. Staff were excellent, knowledgeable, and efficient. Definitely will go again. And next to a great barber shop!

Great service and atmosphere. The dumplings and wonton soup were great!

We had the pork wonton soup, two spicy pork dumpling dishes, a pork-shrimp dumpling dish and the ube flavored boba tea.

The wonton broth was good. It comes with a few leaves of bok choy and you can taste a little sesame seed oil. A bit too salty, but otherwise comforting.

The pork dumplings are the same as the wonton soup, minus the broth and bok choy.

I learned I’d rather have pork filling rather than the pork with shrimp option because it loses it’s flavor. But I would really love to see a chicken and pork filling combo!

The sauce that came with my shrimp-pork dumplings was the best one out of all of them.

This San Marcos location is one of three One More Bite Dumpling eateries in Southern California, offering fast casual Shanghai-style dishes. This location features spacious high ceilings and an open layout. It also offers free parking.

The chicken fried udon with black pepper sauce was recommended by our server Allen and it was the table’s favorite pick. The dish contained moist and flavorful chicken and noodles, with a balanced level of oil, so it was a medium heavy dish. It was accompanied by nicely sliced carrots, green bell peppers, and cabbage for texture. At $16, it was also a great value for hungry eaters considering the generous portions.

The steamed shrimp dumplings were moist and tasty. They were medium-sized and came three (3) to a plate.

The three (3) mushroom shrimp pork shumai were large-sized and covered with bright orange fish roe. Great, filling bites with the chili oil.

The sticky rice chicken in lotus leaf reminded me of smelling earthy tea. Inside the carefully wrapped rice was warm chicken that alternated between moist and l dry bites.

The steamed pork xiao long bao came in a pack of eight (8) with a side of thinly sliced ginger. Their pockets held in the meat juices until you bit into the dumpling. The tops of the dumplings were a bit firm.

The red bean paste buns were made of white steamed dough and decorated with adorable yellow ears/mouth and black eyes. Big hit with the kids!

Overall, a tasty place to share Shanghai-style comfort food with family and friends for lunch or dinner.

4.4 stars – the dim sum here is delicious, no question about it. The boba was lacking flavor, something to skip. The service was 6 stars, from the hostess to the servers. Lots of people during peak and non peak hours, and seating may be difficult to get without waiting or a reservation.

Cute little place, they are making dumplings while you walk in. We ordered red bean paste buns, wonton and bok choy udon, chicken and broccoli, veggie rolls and steamed pork to try. All very good! Can’t wait to come back and try the other dishes. Definitely recommend if in the area!

I’m going to start by saying it’s worth the wait. I’m not the most patient when I’m hangry but I decided to give this place a try and I’m so happy I did. The size of the dumplings and xiao long bao is no joke and filled with so much flavor (pork) and got shrimp and pork dumplings all spicy, flavor did not disappoint and the consistency of the dough was perfect for me. My tea and the boba were espectacular and the service amazing and friendly. The place is small but feels nice, welcoming and cozy.

The food here is fantastic! The pork soup dumplings were amazing, and the chicken karaage was a standout—absolutely awesome. I really enjoyed the BBQ pork bun, and while the fried rice was good, it was on the simpler side. The pork and shrimp dumpling was decent, but I might skip it next time.

Everything came out hot and quickly, even though they were very busy. Service was solid overall, but you did have to ask for things at times. That said, I’ll definitely be coming back!
