My wife and I dined here early Wed. evening before a Billy Joel concert. In the mood for BBQ, we were going to go to Brother Jimmy’s BBQ across from MSG but decided to support L.I. locals and we are so glad we did. This small spot makes some tasty smoked meats and delicious sides. We had The Cubano sandwich and The Brisket Platter. We were even there early enough for the H.H. drink specials. EVERYTHING was very enjoyable with very nice staff. We wish we could of stuck around for the live entertainment but we had a train to catch…

A neat little hole in the wall with good food, good bartender and friendly customers. They have weird beers on tap and can make a pretty good sangria. The sides are all fantastic and I could not recommend the collards enough.

The owner seems like he cares and the experience is pretty great.

Great! Eschew the anesthetics and bring me the food! The focus here is on the food. Everything on the menu is cooked and prepared to perfection. The beer and whiskey selection is top notch. The best part? The food isn’t drowning in sauce, they let the food speak for itself. One trip will lead to many more. Enjoy!

Was excited to try this place after hearing many good reviews. The pig candy was really good, but to be honest, I had the fried chicken, and my fiancee had the burnt ends, and both really lacked any kind of flavor or salt or anything…not really impressed considering the price. Good beer selection.

Great food all around. Soft corn bread, fatty but well-cut meat (fatty in a good way), fair portion. Prices are high, but this isn’t a standard fare restaurant. They offer specialty brews, high quality smoked meats and a good selection of specialty treats, like alligator bites. While we were disappointed with our appetizer (spinach dip), the food was great. AND they had doen east cider! Recommended.

Food was really good and staff super friendly. The “Pig Candy” was super sweet, thick cut bacon and was delicious. I had baby back ribs which were good and everyone I was with enjoyed their meals as well.

What a fantastic BBQ gastro pub. Smoking Als is pure charcoal, can’t taste the flavor of the protein. Here, the BBQ is delicious. Had the pulled pork nachos and the smoked buffalo wings. For a main, had the brisket, baby back ribs, and the burnt ends. Last time I had burnt ends this well, was in Memphis. Lastly, my kids adored the alligator!! For sides, beans and collard greens. Kids loved Mac n Cheese. Didn’t like the fries, but that a personal choice. Been here 2x in last two weeks, and will be back soon enough.

I work across the street and I can’t believe I waited this long to try these guys out! And now they’re open for lunch which is a dream come true! Seriously some of the best BBQ I’ve ever had.

I ordered ribs and my coworkers got burgers. Needless to say we shared bites and we ALL were blown away. everything was fresh and packed with flavor. Collard greens and smoked beans are a must!!!

The sides were great, but that is where the positives end. The smoked beans and collared greens were on point, but that is where it ends. Server recommended the quesadillas. Not much flavor , and at $15 , I mean come on. The pig candy was good if you like oversugared bacon, that was $20 bucks, atleast they give you a good amount. On to the entree. Was disappointed with my brisket as it was either left out all day or it was highly overcooked, maybe both. No fat marbling at all. Zero juice. With brisket being the backbone of good BBQ I was disappointed. Beer list was average and high priced. In this day an age, who doesn’t carry overpriced craft beer. Wont be going back as there are better more affordable options.
