I’ve came to this plaza and saw how Rumens is now ONDO Korean restaurant.
Came here during lunch time around noon. It was really busy and a full house on a Thursday.
There is a Yelp wait list that you sign in on a tablet.
What I ordered
~ Beef Bibambap for myself. I love bibimbap. The bowl is filled w lots of Korean fresh veggies. Highly recommended.
~ Soft beef Tofu Soup for my father. He got the beef non spicy one. Filled with a lot of tofu and was given an egg for us to crack it into the soup.
Both dishes came with a bowl of steam/white rice.
Currently running a Galbitang special BOGO 50% Monday-Friday 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
The Banchan especially the kimchi is delicious.
All which is made in house per the owner Megan. She helped assist with my order and came and checked in on us, sweet gal.
Really Authentic Korean Food. Love the vibe, decor and simplicity of modern Korean vibe.
Service was fast and really friendly.
Located in same plaza as Hobby Lobby, Krak Boba & enchanted coffee shop.
Lots of parking available.
Located in the same shopping center as LA Fitness and Hobby Lobby, parking can be a bit busy due to the gym. But don’t fret, it’s still easy to find parking!
When you walk inside, it’s a very clean, cozy, and fun vibe. They use beautiful lighting, and light nuteral colors.
Service was great! They were very helpful with explaining items on the menu that we’ve never heard of before. So I went out of my comfort zone to try something new!
My friend and I did the Grand Opening set Menu!
Seafood Pancake – I love me a good seafood Pancake, and this one doesn’t disappoint! There were big pieces of squid and other little bits of seafood, and the veggies were great!
Smoked Baby Back Ribs – These were so good, the meat was tender, and it was seasoned really well!
Wild Thistle Pot Rice – my first time trying Wild Thistle, this was actually good. It was very clean tasting, I did add some of my Tofu soup for extra flavor!
Seafood Tofu Soup – The clams, the shrimp, the oyster, the flavor, everything was so good! It is one of my favorite comfort foods to get now! I definitely want to try the other tofu soups!
Sikhye – A traditional Sweet Rice Drink. It’s not super sweet, you can definitely taste that it was made in house! It’s delicious! And apparently it helps with migraines, and as a migraine sufferer, YAY FOR HELPFUL THINGS!
Sujeonggwa – This was another comfort in a cup, the drink was refreshingly cool, but the cinnamon gave it a wonderful warmth to it.
I am in need of another visit, even if it’s by myself, I will go back!
Current $12 lunch weekday menu has 4-5 options mostly hot tofu soups. We ordered the soybean soup which has a strong, distinct flavor. Good w rice. Ordered the Bibimbap to go which came w a cute Bento box w 4 different side dishes.
Galbitang- currently BOGO 50% off so we ordered one each. The broth was light and delicious.
Would definitely come back again if in the area!
The wholesome, fresh ingredients and superb side dishes make for a truly satisfying meal. The bibimbap and the soft tofu stew, rich with chili oil aroma, are especially outstanding.
I recommend it because you can experience flavors that would be considered top-tier even in Korea itself.
With the Grand Opening Set Menu, you get an appetizer, small plate, main dish and a dessert beverage for $25 for one person or $50 for two people.
We started with a seafood pancake. It was large and filled with various types of seafood and vegetables. It was so comforting and delicious.
Our small plate was the pork baby back ribs. They were salty and tender. I want more of those.
My friend got the wild thistle pot rice and clam tofu stew, while I got the soy sprouts pot rice and dumpling tofu stew. The wild thistle was tender and paired well with all the bachan offerings. There was a lot of clams in the tofu stew. Just another warm and comforting dish. The soy sprouts had a corn flavor to them and also paired well with all the bachan. The dumplings were super soft and filled with various ingredients. More comfort food and made me feel like being at home.
We got the sikhye, a sweet rice beverage, for our dessert. It was sweet and reminded me of honey balls, a Japanese snack I loved as a child.
Wonderful food that felt like home will have me coming back here soon.
You get a choice of an appetizer and small plate, I had to go with the seafood pancake—one of my faves—and they give you 3 meaty pieces for the smoked ribs.
Then, each person gets one tofu soup and pot rice of their own. That’s right, each!! Their pot rice is pretty special, it’s cooked in an iron pot with your choice of veggies, which creates fluffy rice with a crispy golden layer on the bottom.
Oh, and I almost forgot, dessert is even included! My first time trying sikhye which is Korean rice punch and they make their own in-house too.
Thanks for reading! ^-^
