If you’re looking for an underwhelming Mexican experience, this is the place for you. The food was cooked fine and looked good, but lacked flavor. Angela, our server, did amazing and accommodated our needs; she was also very responsive. #food #experience #server

Food and drinks are great! We sat in a booth in the bar and Miranda was our server/bartender. She was great!! She remembered us from weeks ago and even what drinks we had. It was slow when we arrived but very busy by the time we left and the quality of service never changed.

Since I was dining on my own I sat at the bar. The bartender was very friendly. She was quick on the drink and my dinner came out pretty quickly as well. Another guy set a seat and a half away from me and the three of us had a good time joking around. Kristen was great! I’m a wimp so the salsa was a little too hot for me. I ordered the chicken enchiladas with rice and beans. It was good but nothing over the top special. For me it was a great atmosphere. There were times of a little waiting but not too bad. Look forward to going back the next time I’m in Hot Springs.

The food and service were really good. Our server was Ashley, and she was super sweet and took great care of us. The queso dip was super delicious, and I would highly recommend it. They also have great salsa and tortilla chips. If you have a chance, get the OMG cookie dessert who doesn’t love deep-fried Oreo cookies. (Included a pic of them). The restaurant was a little older but clean, and the restrooms were clean. The staff were super nice. I would go back to this restaurant again. They have a nice little fireplace area, and you can see them warming up tortillas on the grill. They also have outside dining for when the weather is nice.

We visited on Sunday evening, had a table for 7. It wasn’t that busy. We sat for 10 min before anyone brought chips n salsa then took our orders. We ordered drinks first with water. After 30 min of choking down chips n salsa(40 min after arriving) we finally got water. Our appetizers didn’t arrive for another 10 min and we still didn’t have our drinks. When the drinks arrived they were all wrong and 3 of them were wrong/returned 3 times. Our food finally arrived and some of the orders were wrong. Mind you we’re all still being patient and nice but good lord it was terrible. We were there a total of 2 hrs and the food wasn’t really that good and the service was terrible. I honestly have never endured such an experience at a restaurant before. I really don’t like to leave a bad review and I leave reviews everywhere we go but this is my honest assessment. I’m sorry, but I do not recommend this restaurant.

Your typical chain Tex-Mex restaurant. The upside? You know what you’re going to get. The downside? It’s the same no matter where you are. But that’s the deal, right? This chain offers fresh made flour tortillas and some variety in combinations. Plenty of parking spots and seating. Our waitress was polite and available.

I recently visited On The Border in Hot Springs and had a great Tex-Mex experience. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, with plenty of seating options and a cozy vibe inside. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure our table had everything we needed.

The food was flavorful and satisfying — the chips and salsa were fresh, the queso enchiladas were cheesy and delicious, and the fajitas came out sizzling with plenty of toppings. Drinks were good, especially the margaritas, though they could be a bit stronger.

Service was generally smooth, though the wait time for entrées was a little longer than expected. Still, the team made up for it with their positive attitude and helpfulness.

Overall, On The Border is a solid choice for Tex-Mex in Hot Springs. It’s a fun spot for casual dining, whether you’re grabbing fajitas with friends or enjoying a family night out.

⭐ Rating: 4/5 – Great food and atmosphere, with room for improvement on speed and consistency.

Grilled Steak Fajitas, gotta try it now …

Special thanks to Elizabeth for providing us with a fantastic dining experience at On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina in Hot Springs, Arkansas. My dining companion and I had the pleasure of indulging in their Grilled Steak Fajitas, and we were blown away by the quality and flavors. Let me start by saying that if you’re a fan of sizzling, flavorful, and tender fajitas, then this is the place to be.

The Grilled Steak Fajitas were a true delight for our taste buds. The steak was perfectly cooked to our liking, juicy and succulent with a wonderful charred exterior. The portion size was generous, allowing us to create our own custom fajitas with the accompanying warm flour tortillas, grilled onions, bell peppers, guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream, and cheese. The presentation was impressive, with the sizzling skillet arriving at our table, enveloping us in a tantalizing aroma. The flavors were well-balanced, and the steak was seasoned to perfection. Every bite was a burst of smoky, savory goodness, making it difficult to resist going back for more. The fajitas were accompanied by flavorful Mexican rice and refried beans, adding a satisfying touch to the meal.

Now, let’s talk about their Sopapillas, the perfect sweet ending to our meal. These fluffy, deep-fried pastries sprinkled with cinnamon sugar were simply heavenly. Served warm, they were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, creating a delightful contrast in textures. Dipping them into the honey provided a delightful sweetness that complemented the flavors perfectly. The portion was generous, allowing us to share and savor every single bite. The Sopapillas were the perfect way to end our meal, leaving us with a lingering taste of indulgence and satisfaction.

The service at On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina was exceptional, thanks to Elizabeth’s attentive and friendly demeanor. She made sure we had everything we needed throughout our dining experience and provided helpful recommendations. The atmosphere of the restaurant was vibrant and welcoming, adding to the overall enjoyment of our visit.

In conclusion, if you find yourself in Hot Springs, Arkansas, make sure to visit On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina. Their Grilled Steak Fajitas are a must-try, offering a delectable combination of flavors and a memorable dining experience. And don’t forget to treat yourself to their heavenly Sopapillas for a sweet ending that will leave you craving for more.

The food is still good. Its just not as nice as the west little rock location. From decor to cleanliness the WLR location definitely beats them out. Our server was lovely and our food was yummy.
